Science city is creation on the heart of Kolkata, personifying the scientific revolution that has engulfed the city. This was established in the year 1997, the Science City is one of the most popular tourist spots in Kolkata. The massive expanse of the science city is capable enough to baffle visitors when they come for an ultimate experience in this place. Development in science and technology has been one of the primary aims of the government after the termination of the colonial rule in India. When the British left there were huge losses of wealth and mankind that the nation suffered that delayed the country`s progress. With time the Indian government has been successful in implementing plans for its enhancement and a consciousness among the people. The Science City provides the apt environment for recreation and education situated at the crossing of the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass and Park Circus.
 The Science City built on a vast expanse of land charms the visitors with its greenery and beautiful flower gardens. The ground floor introduces real life scientific experiences like Tornado, Energy Ball, Quick Sand, Ocean Waves etc. these special attractions, lets shiver run down the spine due to its extremely adventurous nature. The Quick Sand is a mind-boggling experience where in we find the ground beneath us slipping away, somewhat like an earthquake. This world of tornados, and quick sands, continues to entice people with the optical illusions that we encounter in the world of the fishes. This aquatic world comprises of aquariums with some of the most exotic fishes swimming in almost real environment. This also has some specimens of insects, which give it a very mysterious touch to the whole surrounding. The trip is incomplete without the Time Machine, which supplies to the demand of adrenaline rush in our veins. Made for the ones who like to experience thrill, which can drive them mad, the Time Machine is the ultimate place to be. The Time Machine lets one take a trip of the outer space, which is not only exciting but also so overwhelming. Scientific innovations have made such dreams of traveling into the space  possible with these equipments. Next, for more entertainment there is an artificial Jurassic Park where incredible life size Dinosaurs can be spotted moving around producing all kinds of strange sounds. How amazing it is for the children who have seen this in films earlier but that time it was very real in front of them. Among the other attractions of the Science city, the musical fountain is an eye catcher, apart from a huge convention center with a capacity to accommodate 2300 persons. Two other auditoriums have the accommodative capacity of 450 people. As an over all experience, the Science City has amazing offerings, and another very important aspect of the whole tour is the ropeway without which the whole experience wont be absolute. This reaches one high up to the highest point from where we can notice the things below in a suspended position. It is an out of the world experience when in the middle of nowhere the cabin is suspended.
The place is not only for kids but also very important from the perspective of budding scientists, this is highly inspirational. The Science city has the ability to capture young minds and generate a feeling of oneness with scientific world. This world of interesting things is only possible due to the wonder of science and the way in which they are portrayed to the common people makes it easier for the common man also to relate to science.
