Chetan Hansraj is regarded as one of the most talented actors of the small screen. With that enviable physique and striking looks he is the heartthrob of many teenagers.

He was a state level water polo player and also participated in the Gladrags Manhunt contest and won the second runner-up prize. He also won the `Best Physique` award in the same contest. It is because of his model like features, which made him a part of many ad campaigns like Tata Safari, Thums Up, Cinthol, Lakme and Wagon R. But the most remarkable turning point in his career came after he sprung to popularity by the portrayal of his character Sasha in one of the most popular daily. The six feet plus hunk after winning the manhunt contest started modeling and never had to look back since then. He has played major roles in other dailies as well.

Chetan Hansraj is born and brought up in Mumbai. He has been a resident of Mumbai since 32 years and is a typical Bandra boy. His mother is a pathologist and is dad is a well-established businessman. Even when he was without any work a one or two years it was his parents who never reacted indifferently and always supported him and never blamed him for his failure He is very closely attached to his parents as they have always supported him through thick and thin. He completed his schooling from Jamunabai Nursee School in Mumbai. The times spent in his school are among his best times and he becomes emotional every time he passes by that school even today.

Chetan Hansraj was not at all good at studies. Being a child actor he was always busy in shooting which in turn hampered his academic life. He never used to complete his home assignments and used to be rebuked by his tutors. In some cases he also signed his scorecards by himself to avoid all the sarcastic remarks of the teachers. He has many fond memories as a child actor. He still cherishes the first time when he went to France with Gulzar and Khalid Mohammad when he was at a tender age of 14 and it was also the first time that he went to abroad. He gained popularity as a film actor in Kukuduku, which was screened in a film festival in France. The closest chum of Chetan was Vishal Gandhi who parted from him after he joined college. He was his best friend and like a brother to him. The bond was so intimate between them that they used to spend their vacations at each others house. After that they lost contact but recently they again met with each other in a movie premiere.

Among all his teachers Chetan`s favorite was Colin Demonty. She was not only very protective to him but also adored him. After school he was enrolled in Mithibai College. He never used to attend college so he does not have much fond memory of his college days. The only thing he remembers is his college canteen and a lukka corner from where lots of actors and directors have emerged. He has also done a course in fashion designing from NIFT and a 3D Animation course. He also describes his lifestyle as very simple with a dash of craziness in it. He is a big time fitness freak but does not have time to care for his body now because of his hectic work schedule.

Recently he has started putting in one hour to stay in shape. His major hobbies include doing 3D animation and watching movies. He married to an airhostess. They met through a common friend in a prty and her looks attracted him towards her. He is a Gujarati and is married to a Christian and their wedding pictures showed that they are getting married in a church.

The acting career of Chetan Hansraj started when he was just about five years old. His cousin Jugal Hansraj was in the profession of acting and modeling and it was after seeing him that Chetan decided to enter into the world of acting and told his mother about his decision. His mother then started forwarding his snaps to different people who are in the media industry.

As a model he did not have to struggle much as his features were apt the arena of modeling. Till the age of 16 he did modeling and acting. And then after a considerable period of time he again made a mark in the world of acting. At the age of 27 he again started acting. It was at this stage that he landed up with the role in Kkusum. One of his friends called Kushal was supposed to do a show in Balaji and at that time Chetan was jobless. So his friend told him to meet him with his photographs. He went there and submitted his photographs following which he was called for an audition. It was because of his exceptional performance in that audition that he bagged the character of Garv in Kkusum.

In this serial he falls in love with Kali, the elder daughter of the male lead though she was not meant for him at that time. Due to some adverse situations he has to marry Kumud, the younger sister of Kali and it is from this stage when Kali starts feeling for him and goes out of her way to get him back in his life. In fact this was his first serial and he thanks his luck for that. Before that he was seen in a special appearance in a horror show with Pawal Kaul with whom he is also shooting for a movie. In this movie he has a nice and positive character portrayal and he is sure about carving a niche in the hearts of his fans with this role.

But the major break in his career came with Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. In this he played the character of Sasha who along with his brothers and sisters comes to Agarwal house to get hold of his father`s properties. He also falls in love with Gunn who apparently ties the knot with Krishna but that does not stop him from creating mess in the life of Gunn as well as the Agarwal family. He considers that he is lucky enough to get the character of Sasha because in a negative character the actor gets a whole lot of chances to perform and it is because of this that the audiences love him.

After this Chetan Hansraj appeared in another daily soap called Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai in which he plays the character of Josh who happens to be the rock star and who in the later stages gets along with the main protagonists of the soap very well. It was the negative character Prithvi who kills Josh in this serial for knowing some hidden facts about him, which would make his life a mess. Soon after this he appeared in another daily called Kaajjal where he plays the character of Dhruv who happens to be the best friend of the male lead Dev. They share a very intimate bonding. In this serial he comes back to India after a long time in search of a traditional wife and falls in love with Kaajjal but things does not work out in his favor.

In the recent project of his titles Virrudh he plays the role of an impatient young man Rudraksh who cannot tolerate injustice meted out to his father and his whole family. He is always raring to get even with Dhirendra Raisinghania but it is Virender who curbs him down and tells him to wait for the right time. He totally hates the main protagonist of the soap called Vasudha as she acts as a shield to her father. He also plays the negative character in the historical soap called Prithviraj Chauhan. He is an immensely talented actor and plays all his roles well. He also did the role of junior Balram in the serial Mahabharat when he was just 13 years old.

In the silver screen also Chetan Hansraj made his presence felt in the movie Koi Aap Sa that starred Aftab Shivdasani, Natasha and Deepanita Sharma. He also played a small role in the hit movie Anthony Kaun Hai. He is also doing another film titled Brham, which is a romantic thriller starring Dino Morea, Sheetal Menon and Milind Soman. In this movie he is in the second lead, Dino being the first and Milind is playing the negative character.

This marble-eyed hunk is also following the footsteps of his counterparts in foraying into the arena of production. Being a sports person himself, Chetan plans to produce a show based on adventure sports into reality on the small screen. She has always dreamt of making his reality-based adventure shows. Not he thinks he has sufficient means to fulfill his dreams. His main interest lies in the reality shows because of the fact that they are the most happening things on Indian Television today.

He is optimistic about the fact that this kind of reality show is going to earn a lot of revenue as the young generation of today are more attracted by these types of shows and also thinks that these shows would have mass appeal in the near future. As of now this venture is still in the mode of process. He has approached a few channels and is confident about a positive income. He promises that his show would not be a copy of any show. He claims that all of the things are inspired from something and in this regard he remarks that his show can be inspired from some show but not the copied stuff. He is very thankful to all his fans that take out their precious time and watch his serials and love him being the screen baddie. He does not even care what other people think about Ekta Kapoor but he actually loves working with her. His fans also hope that they will get to experience more of his work in the near future and be totally delighted by it.
