Alok Nath is a notable Indian actor who is immensely talented and naturally gifted with the ability of acting. He has been seen both on the silver screen and in the television soaps. Alok Nath was born on 10th July in the year 1956 in Mumbai, India. He started acting as a child.

His appearance was notable when he acted in Buniyad television show in 1987. He is regarded as the first face of the Indian television and has also been like the father of actors all across Bollywood and the small screen.

He acted in 1989 film, Maine Pyar Kiya, playing the father of Bhagyashree Patwardhan`s character, Suman. He has appeared in some of the biggest hits of Bollywood and usually plays supporting roles as a father or uncle who is always shown very humble and a kind person. Prime examples are Taal, Maine Pyar Kiya, Pardes, Vivah, etc. He has enacted some of the negative roles very well for example Bol Radha Bol. He also made an appearance in the international award-winning Richard Attenbrough directed film Gandhi (1982). His film Vivah was very successful and his performance as a doting uncle was praised by critics.

In popular movies like Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun he has also essayed the roles of a father with utmost panache and ease with an ever-brimming face and a valiant heart. He is very well versed with sways and mannerisms of happy family. His excellent oral and written histrionics communication skills are well demonstrated in films like Ansh and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. His achievements in the Hindi film industry is unique and this excessively talented actor will continue to rule the both the silver and small screen as long as he continues to be in the profession of acting.

He appeared in the Star Plus serial Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai which had been running since late 2007. He is working in Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli.

In the other serial Ghar Ek Sapna he is playing the father of the protagonist Samman, his role is that of a person who is extremely disturbed, as he has lost a lot with the passage of time. His business went down the drain since the time of Kakul`s marriage. In another popular serial Piya Ka Ghar he was highly praised for his role as a homicidal father-in-law with suicidal tendencies.

He also played the role of father in the serial Sanskar for Doordarshan directed by Chander Behl but in this his role is not a submissive one. In this serial his character gets to fight the world to defend his family and extremely enjoys playing the dad who has his values in place but is nonetheless a modern man.
