Alok Nath The immensely talented and natural gifted actor Alok Nath was born on 10th July in the year 1956 in India. This wonderful actor has come a long way since his amazingly successful role as Masterji in the popular director Ramesh Sippy`s television series Buniyaad. He agrees with the fact that he deserves a lot more but he is also affirmed that it is this much that destiny had in store for him. He is happy to do the work that he gets in the small screen now.

He also considers that the home viewing medium is the essence of middle class entertainment and is very contented with his performance on television. He however regrets being typecast. He has appeared in some of the biggest hits in the Hindi film industry. He is usually seen in supporting roles as a father, uncle and other relations. His role in the international award winning film Gandhi, which was directed by Richard Attenbrough was highly acclaimed. His performance as a doting uncle in the recent film Vivaah was very successful and earned a lot of praise.

Alok Nath in BuniyaadAlok Nath of the popular series Buniyaad is looked upon as a fatherly figure in the telly industry today. A veteran in the small screen as well as in the silver screen, his dimples and charming personality gather respect from one and all. He is regarded as the first face of the Indian television and has also been like the father of actors all across Bollywood and the small screen. According to him the series of Buniyaad has been the work he enjoyed doing the most. He also had a great time working with the Rajshri production house.

In the other serial Ghar Ek Sapna he is playing the father of the protagonist Samman, his role is that of a person who is extremely disturbed, as he has lost a lot with the passage of time. His business went down the drain since the time of Kakul`s marriage. In another popular serial Piya Ka Ghar he was highly praised for his role as a homicidal father-in-law Vivah with suicidal tendencies. In the movie Vivaah, Alok Nath deserves a lot of praise for his character portrayal and also makes a place in the heart of his fans with his cordial humility and dedicated for self-respect. His love for his beloved niece is very genuine and their relation especially in the climax scenes brings tears in the eyes of the audience.

Alok Nath has always been associated with Barjatiya`s huge hit Maine Pyaar Kiya. He plays the character of a self-respecting mechanic in this movie, who values his daughter and friend more than anything else. Enacting the popular scenes where he after having been incensed by his friend`s selfish ungratefulness utters out some popular dialogues, which becomes a rage in the film circuit. It has been a full circle and Alok Nath is very much around. He believes in simple living and high thinking. It is this thinking of his and also his humbleness that he couldn`t refuse to be a typecast in the entertainment industry. He made a whole lot of career compromises and he is not at all ashamed of it. According to him an individual must bow down to opportunities. It has been a full circle and Alok Nath is very much around

. In the silver screen also he is struggling to hold up his head as the father roles that he were doing are now being offered to younger and trendier actors. He thinks that he has done enough films and doesn`t mean to sound like a defeatist and he has also stopped fighting the system. As the profession of acting is his bread and butter he has no regrets.

Alok Nath regards that television still gives him the space that he wants. He gets lengthy and meaty roles and is allowed to work on his own terms. He also played the role of father in the serial Sanskar for Doordarshan directed by Chander Behl but in this his role is not a submissive one. In this serial his character gets to fight the world to defend his family and extremely enjoys playing the dad who has his values in place but is nonetheless a modern man.

Hum Saath Saath Hain He also appears in another serial of Rajshri Productions Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki. In this serial also he played an ideal father though he desired to enact a wicked character. He also wishes that he could be as good in real life as he is constantly portrayed on screen and when is often compared to the great actor Sanjeev Kumar he is overjoyed and takes extreme pride in this comparison. He claims that Sanjeev Kumar is a great actor and that his career in the Hindi cinema did take off to an extent but unfortunately it did not reach a stage where roles were especially written for him.

In popular movies like Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun he has also essayed the roles of a father with utmost panache and ease with an ever-brimming face and a valiant heart. He is very well versed with sways and mannerisms of happy family, appropriate behavioral patterns in the customs of marriage and most notably roles of an anguished father loss at society. In addition his creative inputs has provided him with a unique talent and has also brought him varied exposure to different portrayals. His experience in the super hit Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pardes has given him immense scope to handle cows and buffaloes, managing an irritating band of kids and grown ups alike and also the art of whiney expressions when his daughter in law is at sea-situations.
