Achint Kaur, Indian TV Actress
Pallavi of the popular tele-soap `Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki` aired on Star Plus from Monday to Thursday at 10.00 p.m.

The much poplar and enigmatic television actress Achint Kaur is known both in the small screen and the large screen for her outstanding performance. She is prominently shown in the widely popular tele-soaps of the Star Plus namely Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and Karam Apna Apna as well as Virrudh, which are aired on Sony Television. This actress likes living her life on her own terms. The actress has also carved a niche for herself with a repertoire of roles that are far from the stifled and suffering kind. The fact that she has a very strong personality gives her an edge to avoid the run-of-the-mill kind of roles.

The scope of acting came to Achint Kaur by sheer coincidence. By the time her acting career took shape, she had a home and child to care for. She also had no idea what she wanted to do in life. Achint KaurIt was then that some of her friends in the modeling circuit suggested that she should try her luck in modeling. Soon after that she went for a screen test and got to act in a serial on NEPC TV, nut unfortunately this serial did not move beyond the pilot stage. She then anchored a couple of shows in the tinsel town and also anchored a road show for Drishti Communications. Ultimately she bagged a role in Banegi Apni Baat and this proved to be the turning point of her life. The obstacles that overpowered the road to a successful career were easily overcome by her passion for the medium. Within a very short span of time she had metamorphosed into a popular small screen actress. Her attractive features including her soulful eyes and striking angular face is a boon to the audience who were tired of watching coquettish characters of the daily soaps. In one of the interviews she also admitted that as she was not a trained actor her confidence level would be pretty low in the initial stages. She always had the feeling that her co-stars were much more efficient than her. But after seven years into the profession of acting has taught her to work on the minutest details by the `trial and error method`.

Achint Kaur`s all time favorite actress in Indian television remains to be Shefali Chhaya and she is of the opinion that the television has never got a more natural actress than her. She also shares an admiration for Irfan Khan and Divya Seth. Among the actresses on silver screen, her favorites remain to be Kajol, Tabu and Shabana Aazmi. According to Achint Kaur acting in television also becomes taxing and monotonous at a time. Enacting the same characters over a period of time simply eats into one`s creative faculties. It is because of her desire to be different in every other work, that she refused 16 soaps at a phase because the work did not inspire her. She went off the television virtually for a short span and indulged her whole concentration into a play. She is also taking up films at present as they offer her with more variety but less area of footage. She also admits that she needs to work more on her voice modulation. It is the only area that requires a sharp focus. In the present days she has also started working regularly and also feels that physical activity will keep her fresh and charged up. She is also of the view that workouts will help her to maintain a calm composure and will lead to the development of a sharp mind. In her spare time she also reads aloud to improve on her dialogue delivery and action. She also believes to work in quality projects even if they are few in number. Ten years from now she would like to venture into some profession, which has no link with the entertainment industry at all.

Kahani Ghar Ghar KiAchint Kaur has made a mark with the popular soaps like Saaya, Maan, Dhadkan, Banegi Apna Baat, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kyuki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Virrudh. Her desire to be different in each role she enacts has made her help earn much fame. Her unconventional role in Virrudh falls in the same category of quality performance. She is also excited about the new show with UNICEF in Doordarshan. In this daily soap she is playing the role of a UNICEF representative and according to her it is a very inspirational role being directed by Raman Kumar. She is happy about her acting profession in the television circuit and does not want to enter into the film industry until and unless she bags meaningful roles.

She also made a promise to herself to bring about the downfall of Tulsi and break her family and house called Shantiniketan. The character of Pallavi Agarwal in the soap Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki earned her much popularity. In this project, she enacted the role of the wife of Kamal Agarwal and the mother of Krishna Agarwal. Initially she was to marry the youngest son of this family Ajay Agarwal but at the last minute she tied the knot with the middle son Kamal Agarwal. She never misses a chance to hurt her father with her blunt remarks as she is of the firm belief that it was only sue to her father Dhirendra Raisinghaniya that she could not marry the man she loved. She also believes her father when he convinces her with the fact that men only want to indulge in a matrimonial alliance with her for the opportunity to get access to him, his wealth and power and not for what she is.
