Delhi Daredevils is the Delhi
based franchise for the Indian Premier League
in cricket. The GMR Group owns the franchise. This particular team in IPL plays with a motto that is: Dare to Succeed. It draws from the Hindi line "Front foot pe kheleng". It conjures the vision of a team that is innovative and does not shy away from a challenge, blending well with the never-say-die trait of the Delhi
citizen. The team song "Dilli ke Munday, Aa Khelein Front Pe" is a call to action that will create an excitement that is unique to the team.
The Daredevils play their home matches in the Feroz Shah Kotla
ground located in New Delhi, under the newly installed floodlights. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar
was chosen as the brand ambassador for Daredevils in the first edition of IPL, but due to lack of time he opted out of the responsibility.
Popular Indian playback singer
, Kailash Kher has sung the theme song for Delhi Daredevils - "Khel Front Foot Pe" a.k.a. "Play on the front foot or play aggressively". It is played at every Delhi Daredevils match.
Delhi Daredevils launched their new anthem "Munday Dilli Ke" on 5 March 2012 on the social networking site YouTube.
