Madh Island Beach, Mumbai
Madh Island Beach is a serene beach that is known for its lavish parties in Mumbai, and is said to be constructed by the Portuguese.

Madh Island Beach, MumbaiMadh Island Beach is mainly a group of small farmlands and villages that have old world charm, and is nestled comfortably on the north-west coast of Mumbai. It is serene and beautiful beach known for hosting the most beautiful and attractive parties thrown by people of upper strata of the city. This is the place where people converge and tap their feet to the tunes and rhythm of peppy numbers played by the class DJ`s. Madh Island Beach is dotted with magnificent bungalows and is the perfect getaway for respite from noisy city life. Though this beach is not suitable for swimming but it is apt for an escapade.

The Madh Fort, which is said to be constructed by the Portuguese, is the main attraction of the beach. It was previously used as a watchtower, but later on the place is used as training encampment for cadets. Along the shoreline the fishermen inhabit the place. The beach is quite perfidious to move out into the waters, due to strong sea currents. As per the geography, this island beach would have been a peninsula, if a small creek hemmed in mangroves had not separated it with the mainland near Aksa.

Owning to the low tide one can practically walk across the sands from Dana Paani Beach in Erangal to Aksa Beach. The Erangal village is a beautiful place on the Madh Island, where people mainly depend on farming. Tourism is a thriving business here, and tourists throng the place in large numbers. The Church of St. Bonaventure, a Portuguese church that dates back to the 16th century, is another site to visit on the island. To put succinctly, Madh Island Beach is a place that is close to nature and makes a perfect hangout for solitude lovers.
