Gymnastic in India is funded and well supported by Gymnastic Federation of India (GFI). The federation plays a pivotal role in promoting gymnastics in India.

 Gymnastic in India is a game which is controlled by Gymnastic Federation of India (GFI). The federation plays a pivotal role in promoting gymnastics in India. Gymnastic is a game that involves performance of dance and it involves physical strength, agility and flexibility, balance and coordination. In the international scenario all the gymnastic game are managed and controlled by Federation of Internationale De Gymnastique (FIG), where all the countries have their own federation affiliated to the same.

The best known gymnastic sport is the Competitive Artistic gymnastics. It involves the women`s event of uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and vault. The events of men consists of floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar. The sport of gymnastic actually evolved from exercises used by old Greek Gods that incorporated skills for mounting and dismounting a horse, and from circus performance skills. Some of the other sports in gymnastic include rhythmic gymnastics, the various trampoline sports, aerobic and acrobatic gymnastics.

The participants of gymnastics can include young children as small as two years old doing kinder-gym and gymnastics for children, recreational gymnastic of age five and above.

Gymnastic Federation of India
This is the federation that plays a leading role in promoting the game of gymnastic in India. This association came into being in the year 1951. . India, being the second most populated and the 7th Largest Country of the world, the Gymnastic Federation of India is an important Unit of the Federation of International gymnastic (FIG), Commonwealth Gymnastic Confederation (CGC) and Asian Gymnastic Union (AGU).
