Nabinchandra Sen (1847-1909) is considered as one of the greatest poet and writer of Bengal. He was born in Bangladesh. Nabin Chandra Sen is dull and pedestrian in his serious and reflective moods. However his writings possess descriptive and narrative power. Palasir Yuddha, a long poem on the Battle of Plassey is considered as his best work. Amritabha is a poem on Lord Buddha, and Raivatak, Kurukshetra and Prabhas form a trilogy on Krishna. He has also written a poem on Jesus Christ entitled Khrista.
Nabinchandra did his studies from Chittagong Collegiate School. He did his Bachelors degree from Scottish Church College. He taught at Hare School in Kolkata for a short period of time.
