The audiences of the small screen are already popular with the name Shakti Anand aka Nikhil of the popular soap `Ek Ladki Anjaani Si` or Captain Vikram of `Saara Akaash`. This talented actor saw the light of the world on 23rd September. He has completed his schooling in the Tamil Education Association in Delhi and has pursued his graduation in the Science stream. Acting was his childhood hobby and he never even thought in the wildest of his dreams that one day this hobby of his would convert into one of the ruling passions. While working with a reputed multinational medical organization he was also practicing theater but never imagined that one day destiny will turn his passion into his profession. He claims that the best part of acting is that there is nothing monotonous in this profession and everyday one tends to play with different emotions and his work is instantly paid by recognition as well as money. The character with which he can mostly relate himself is that of Vikram in the first 15 episodes of `Saara Akaash`. He believes that acting in both the film and television is easy till the time the actor enjoys playing his part.

During the time in which Shakti Anand was practicing theater he got offers to act in several commercials. He gladly chose to be a part of all of them before he made his acting debut in `Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi` in the character portrayal of Hemant. Soon after he also made brief appearances in 2 soaps titled `Sansaar` and `SambhaavAsambhaav`. The major turning point in his career came in the form the lead role in the very popular weekly soap `Saara Akaash` in which he enacted the character of Captain Vikram. He partially managed to live upto his dream in this soap of joining the NDA, which he once nurtured in his childhood days. After that he made a mark for himself in tellydom by participating in the reality show `Crime Patrol` and then in the daily soap `Ek Ladki Anjaani Si`. He claims that the serial is all about delicate human relationships and the most interesting part of the soap is that it is not the typical `saans-bahu` types. He has also done a film called `Laagi Prem Lagan` with Sonali Kulkarni and Isha Kopikar but unfortunately the film did not see the light of the day.

In his personal life also Shakti Anand is a very happy and contented individual. He has tied the knot with another popular television actress Sai Deodhar. With his wife he has also participated in the celebrity dance show `Nach Baliye 1`. His personal tastes and preferences also reflect the lifestyle of a typical Delhite. In the matters of culinary preference he likes to be a `pucca Dilliwalah`. He likes to have chicken in any one meal of the day. This talented actor who has kicked off his corporate career with the hope of shining in the tinsel town has grew up to be a consistent performer in the Indian television industry.
