Govind Namdev Born on 3rd September in Sagar (Madhya Pradesh). Govind Namdev had joined in three years Diploma course of National School Of Drama (NSD) and a short term learning course of Film and Television Institute of Pune, before coming in front of the Screen.
After passing from NSD, he worked as a member of NSD Repertory Company for a decade. During working there, he had done several plays. His first break in Plays is `Tughlak` directed by Ebrahim Alkaji, whom he believes as his Guru. His other important plays are- Othello, Cherry Orchard, Aazar Ka Khwab, The Fools, Marco Millions, AndhaYug, and Matta Villas etc.

In Television industry, Govind Namdev had done some critic acclaimed roles such as in `Parivartan, `Ashirwad`, the most renowned role in `Maha Yagna`.
He also won lots of praise for his portrayal of historic figures. `Mahatma Phule` in the Telefilm `Ek Baghi Mahatma`. As a revolutionary father of Bhim Rao Ambedkar in the film`Baba Saheb Ambedkar`.
On silver screen, his roles are in villainous characters, Such as `Permgranth`, ` Bandit queen`,`Elizabeth`,`Sarfarosh`, `Satya` etc.
