Mumbaikar Gauri Nigudkar's father is a pharmacist and mother is Chemistry professor. She has done her post graduation in Organic Chemistry and wants to be an academician as her mother, a Professor. From her twelveth grade she is a part of theatre workshop. She had done several one act plays and Telefilms also.
Although Gauri couldn't be a professor till now in her real life but she likes to teach Chemistry to her younger sister.Though she is new for the Mainstream audiences, but she has already marked in Marathi media.
Gauri Nigudkar has done several commercials and acted in Marathi film
'Uttarayan', which is a national award winner (2004). She hopes to create magic in mainstream also.
'Betiyan Apni Ya Paraya' which is slotted from Monday to Thursday at 9 PM aired on Star Plus, can be considered the story of many Indian homes, where son is believed to be the heir of family and daughter is just other's asset. The story is about six daughters and one son born into Zamidar family of Nilkantha Chandra Rana. Who rebucks his daughters always thinking them as burden.
Krishna the eldest daughter and central character played by Gauri Nigudkar based on Lord Krishna's character.
Gauri has accepted this story, because there is a social message varied with drama. Gender discrimination still presents in maximum Indian houses. So it needs to be change by personal perception and realisation. She feels proud of being a part of it.
When she is asked about her forth-coming projects, she replied, still now she wants to concentrate on studies, Acting is just her hobby. So she is pleased of giving such a nice track to her hobbies also.
