Diana Hayden, born on 1973, is an Indian model turned actress. She hails from the Indian city of
Hyderabad and was born into an Anglo - Indian family. She did her schooling from St. Ann`s High School, Secunderabad, until the eighth standard. Later she continued her studies through open schooling and correspondence, and graduated from Osmania University majoring in English. Prior to winning the Miss World pageant she worked in an event management company called Encore. She also worked as a public relations officer at BMG Crescendo.
Diana Hayden`s Career
Hayden won the Femina Miss India World crown in 1997 and then the Miss World crown in the same year. She became the third woman from India to win the crown after Reita Faria in 1966 and Aishwarya Rai in 1994. She performed a hat trick at the pageant by also winning the Miss Photogenic title and the award for Best Beachwear. Hayden had undergone a lot of training and grooming under notable personalities like, Shaimak Davar, Mickey Mehta, Bharat, Doris Godambe and Ritu Kumar.
Post competition, Hayden went to the UK to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She also studied the works of Shakespeare at the Drama Studio London where she received a Best Actress nomination from the studio. In 2001, she made her screen debut in the film version of Shakespeare`s Othello in South Africa. She has appeared in very few movies which include Adaa - Will Kill U in 2006, "All Alone" in the same year and "Tehzeeb". In the movie, "Tehzeeb" she made a guest appearance and portrayed the character of Sheena Roy. Apart from being in movies, she anchored a popular show called "Biography" on the History channel. As Miss World, Diana Hayden became the name and face for L`Oreal and ambassador for CRY (Child Relief and You). She was also signed by the Avalon Academy in 2006 as the face of the Academy and currently serves as a celebrity guest lecturer for airline personnel training programs. Hayden was also a part of the popular Indian TV show Bigg Boss in 2008.
