The character portrayal of the excessively wicked and cunning son, brother and husband of the very popular tele-soap Viraasat aired on the Star One channel has earned much critical acclaim in the life of an established television show anchor and an immensely talented actor Aman Verma. She was also seen along with another popular anchor Mini Mathur hosting the first season of the renowned musical show Indian Idol on Sony Entertainment Television. This name also conjures up the picture of the much popular fortune show Khul Ja Sim Sim. Both his manners and his voice was a rage among his fan following. He is not only the man who is blessed for having opened the door of fortune to may individuals, but is lucky enough in his professional and personal life as well. In fact his roles in much popular serials like Devi and Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has earned him much fame and recognition. Not only is he regarded as one of the best anchors of the small screen but also he is an actor who is blessed with extreme talent and professionalism.

In the popular tele-soap Kumkum aired on Star Plus afternoon shows Aman Verma appeared in the role of Chanda`s boyfriend. As both the Kumkum and Chanda look alike he mistook Kumkum to be Chanda and did every possible thing to get Kumkum in his life. He took hold of the whole of Wadhwa Empire and it was due to his cunning plans that the family went bankrupt. It was only after he joined in this serial that the daily shot up to the no. 1 position in the afternoon slot. His role ends with his imprisonment. In one of the extremely popular serials of the Star Plus channel titled `Kyunki` he plays the role of Anupam Kedia who is the mysterious business associate Mihir Virani has never left. He meets the Viranis soon after the supposed death of Mihir and becomes a very close member of the family. He also falls in love with the main protagonist of the serial Tulsi Virani and falls in love with her. It is exactly at the point of time when they are about to get married that Mihir appears again and then Anupam make an attempt to distance himself from Tulsi but continues to be a good business associate of the family. He later gets married to Tulsi`s sister Kesar. In the other famous tele-soap Viraasat he plays a negative character. He is depicted as an extremely wicked, cunning and a very selfish individual in this serial. Then again his portrayal of the character of Aditya Pratap in the average hit serial Kehta Hai Dil won him an award at the Indian MTR Television Awards in the year 2003. About all the fame and recognition he has achieved in the short span is because of the fact that he has always been at the right place at the right time. He also did justice to the role of the devil, which he played in the popular daily Devi. He took up the role because he was very excited about the fact that he would have to play the devil with bluish eyes and long hair. Then he also played the role of Maddy in the very popular serial Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. Aman Verma doesn`t feel that the dime-a-dozen replacements that keep on happening in the television circuit are unfair as he considers that the Indian television has become the survival for the fittest. He is also of the view that the production house or channel does not change an actor without a concrete reason. He would also hate to demand the role of a protagonist. He has always made a conscious effort not to get trapped in any image and always wanted a special character that would come and twist the story and will make it move forward rather than play the lead around whom the story revolves. He also does not want to be part of shows, which go on for a score of years. Instead he would like to be part of the shows where people will know him by the name of Aman Verma who has the range and capability to do different roles.

According to him an actor must be versatile enough to portray himself in different roles. He feels that the actors who do not take up different roles on the television will burn out in no time and it is also one of the main reasons as to why some of the actors find it difficult to evolve in the television circuit. He is of the view that the actors who have not restricted themselves to be straitjacketed in the same kind of roles have gone a long way. He meets different people who are into the glam business but continues with his basic work to keep his kitchen fires burning. He accepts that the serial `Kyunki` has made him a household name but the actual turning point of his career was Khulja Sim Sim. He admits the role of the anchor in the same was designed for a well known film actor who found conversing with the audience in English more comfortable and it is here where he came in by a sheer coincidence and was preferred for the only fact that he was comfortable in both the languages, that is, Hindi and English. Though his last film `Tum` did not work out well although he was playing the cop in it has not disappointed him at all. He is optimistic about appearing in better work sin future. He also thinks that the movie was not promoted well and that accounts for its box-office failure. On the other hand he was very happy with his role in Baghban. Through this film he wanted the people to realize that he was doing a biggie but it was all a part of the marketing strategy and also an attempt to promote himself at the level of the film industry. Unfortunately the strategy did not work out for him. At present he is doing a film opposite the star daughter Juhi Babbar that would also mark the return of the super star of the yester years, Rajesh Khanna. There are also a few other films about in which he would be seen playing crucial roles. He personally feels that he is a better actor than anchor.

The major positive point of the popular actor Aman Verma is that he never fumbles with his lines. He reads a lot and also watches television whenever he manages to get some spare time. He also likes to keep himself updated with the current scenario, which in turn makes him feel confident. He dismisses the fact that he comes with an attitude baggage. When he is punctual enough to be present at the sets when required he feels that it is right on his part to step out of the sets at the stipulated time. He frankly remarks that he works for money and claims his money on time but some people misunderstand this issue as attitude problem. He does not think there is any confusion and chaos in the television industry. As an actor he simply has to follow his director and that`s what he does. Though he finds it difficult to alter emotions within a short span he effectively manages to do so. In fact he is grateful to the television industry not only for grooming him as the fine actor that he is today but also for enabling him to earn his livelihood. Aman Verma describes his relationship with all his producers as a very cordial one. For the Balaji Productions he holds a special respect. In fact to him it is one of the most amazing companies to work with. He never had any problems with them regarding date or money. He admits in a recent interview that everything was done according to his convenience. He does not know Ekta Kappor personally and claims that he only shares a producer-actor relationship with her. He is believed to be always looking for newer pastures to broaden his work portfolio. His family and friends are very happy and impressed about his performance and also believes that he can do much better than this. He will be happy till the time he will be able to do all sorts of challenging roles in the small screen. He was also the only character who never bothered to give any explanation against the entire sting operation charade carried out by the India TV. This incident has in fact made him stronger and also helped him evolve as a person. He strongly declares that he does not carry about a Casanova image and that he has his own way of living life. When he will have any plans of settling down in his personal life he will do so and his fans will automatically come to know about that. Till then he believes it is only his work that would speak all about him.
