The film and television entrance examinations are conducted for admissions into the various degree programmes in this highly competitive field. The area of film making is considered as one such field, which has a lot of scopes for creativity and employment opportunities. In the country, there are a number of universities and institutions that offer professional and career oriented training in vast range of areas. These areas include cinematography, editing and sound engineering. The country has several pioneering institutes offering training and education in this particular line is the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. calls for the student's applications in the month of March. Students can get the application forms either by making cash payment or by sending a demand draft drawn in favour of the concerned institute. The notifications regarding the popular common entrance examinations are released in the leading newspapers of the country. Students need to be careful about the last date of submission of the application forms.
Eligibility Criteria for Film and Television Entrance Examinations
The eligibility criteria differ on the basis of the course programmes and the requirements of the various institutes offering these courses. For instance, for getting admissions to Cinematography, Acting, Direction, Editing and Feature Film Screenplay Writing, the candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree from any recognised University. Moreover, for getting admissions to Audiography course, the candidates need to have a Bachelor's degree with Physics as a mandatory subject at 10+2 level. For the Art Direction and Production Design courses, minimum eligibility criterion is a Bachelor's degree in Applied Art/ Sculpture/Architecture/ Painting/Interior Design or any equivalent diploma in related fields of Fine Arts. The various TV engineering courses requires a minimum of 10+2 pass certificate under a recognized Board.
