Andhra Pradesh Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is considered as Engineering, Agricultural and Medical entrance examination. This test, conducted by organized by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, is undertaken by the students for getting admissions to the various professional and career-oriented degree courses within the state of Andhra Pradesh.

This university conducts this entrance exam on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). This common test is specifically designated as Engineering, Medical and Agricultural common entrance test of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is conducted for getting admissions into the several professional degree courses offered by the engineering and medical colleges including the private ones as well as the minority institutions of Andhra Pradesh. All these participating engineering and medical institutes are affiliated to the University of Andhra, Kakatiya, Nagarjuna, Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural, JNTU, Osmania, Sri Krishnadevaraya and Sri Venkateswara.

Application Forms for Andhra Pradesh Common Entrance Test (EAMCET)
Candidates who are interested in appearing for Andhra Pradesh Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) can obtain the application form and the "Instruction Booklet" in person on payment of the requisite fees for entrance test in cash from all the head post offices within the state of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates must submit the completed application form to the Regional Coordinator as mentioned in the Instruction Booklet before the last date of submission. The candidates can also apply online as per their wish. Those who are opting for online application need to submit the completed application form at the time of the time of examination to the invigilator. The candidates need to pay the late fee in the form of a nationalized bank demand draft drawn in favour of the Convenor, EAMCET, payable at Hyderabad.

Eligibility Criteria for Andhra Pradesh Common Entrance Test (EAMCET)
The minimum eligibility criterion is a pass in the qualifying examination (10+2) or any equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% of aggregate marks. Candidates with a diploma can apply for B.E/ B. Tech courses only. Candidates who appear for this entrance examination and whose final result of the qualifying examination is pending need to submit their pass mark sheets at the time of admissions as their entry is subjected to their securing a pass in the qualifying examination.

    The test paper of this common entrance examination comprises objective types of questions with multiple choices. The test duration is 3 hours. This entrance test consists of a total of 160 questions in core subjects like Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For engineering entrance exams, the test paper will include questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For medical entrance examinations, the test paper will include questions from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The mode of this entrance test is English and Telugu language.

    The candidates who have successfully qualified the written test are informed for attending the counselling held for admission into the 1st year of Engineering and B. Pharmacy degree courses. The candidates need to show all the essential documents at the time of counselling. The final admissions list is prepared on the basis of scores obtained in EAMCET.
