Ingredients:
1 cup chopped white gourd
1 table spoon panch phutan (cumin, mustard, nigela, fenugreek, aniseed)
1/2 cup grated coconut
1/2 cup tamarind water
1/2 cup sugar or jaggery or gur
Curry leaves
4 dried black-gram chunks or baddis
2 red chillies
2 teaspoon pickle masala
1 table spoon cooking oil
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Add the pancha phutan (cumin, mustard, nigela, fenugreek, aniseed), curry leaves and baddi to it.
When the baddi turns brown add the chopped white gourd.
Then add pickle masala, sugar or jaggery and salt.
Add water after a while.
Cook until the white gourd becomes soft.
Top it with grated coconut.
Boil for 2 minute more.
