Treatment of Boils
Treatment of boil can be done in many ways. Several methods are applied to treat this skin disease.

Treatment of boils include many different methods and are applied depending upon the nature and type of the disease. Different types of boils demand diverse kinds of treatment. The treatment of boils can be done following various methods like Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, or Indian Naturopathy, and some home remedies are also applied. Some other treatment methods like water therapy and aromatherapy are used in treatment of boils, as well. Making changes in dietary habits can also prevent and treat boils.

Homeopathic Treatment
In Homoeopathy the remedies like Arsenicum album, is useful for deeply infected boils with intensely burning pain and offensive discharge. Belladonna is used in early stages of inflammation, before the formation of much pus and Echinacea angustifolia is used to help the immune system overcome infection. Another Homoeopathic remedy, the Hepar sulphuris calcareum is also helpful when a boil is extremely tender and sensitive to touch. Another remedy, Mercurius solubilis is used when boils are very sensitive with advanced development of pus. Silicea is used to remove boils that form hard lumps and are also slow to come to a head and slow to heal. On the other hand, the Tarentula cubensis is used when a boil is sore and swollen with stinging, burning pain.

Home Remedies
Most simple boils can be treated at home. A majority of people take care of boils themselves. At the first stage the treatment starts with hot soak or hot compress and by maintaining personal hygene. This treatment method is colloquially referred to as "bringing the boil to a head". Once the boil is drained the infected area should be washed with antibacterial soap and properly bandaged.

Among the several home remedies, the use of garlic and onion has proved to be most effective. The juice of garlic or onion can be applied externally on the boils to help ripen them and also to break them and evacuate the pus. Another effective home remedy in the treatment of boils is Karela or Bitter Gourd. In this treatment, a cupful of fresh juice of this vegetable, mixed with a teaspoon of limejuice, is taken sip by sip.

The use of betel leaf is proved to be effective in the treatment of boils. Another home remedy is a paste made from the mixture of the seeds of black cumin and water. This paste can be applied to boils to get desired results. The turmeric powder is also applied to boils to speed up the healing process. There are also some other home remedies, used in the treatment of boils.

Naturopathy Treatment
The herbal and naturopathy is one of the most commonly used and effective methods in the treatment of boils. Several herbal and natural treatments are applied for boils, using different ingredients collected from the nature. The Tea tree oil has good anti-bacterial properties and is used for treating boils. A few drops of tea tree oil are placed on the head of the boil, for killing the infection. The Calendula is usually applied to the affected area as a tincture, ointment or compress. The Goldenseal is used for the treatment of boils, as it helps in eliminating bacteria and skin infection by drawing the infection out of the boil.

Other remedies for boils
Water treatment, in naturopathy, is another effective method to treat the boils. In this method, a thorough cleansing of the system is the first step to treat boils. In this method, warm moist compresses are applied three or four times a day over the tender area. This application helps to bring the boil to a head and encourage easy drainage of the puss filled inside. Aromatherapy can also be used in the treatment of boils. A small compress can be made out of a cotton wool pad and then soaked it in hot water, in this method. Neat lemon oil or myrrh oil can also be applied to the boil, and then be covered with hot pad.

Among all the methods for treatment of boils discussed above, the methods like Homoeopathy, Home Remedies and Naturopathy are applied most. These therapies are mainly applied for the easy availability of the necessary ingredients of the treatment methods.

Making small changes in dietary habits is another effective way in the treatment of boils. One can fast for 2-3 days on juice and water, and a warm-water enema is administered daily, during this period to cleanse the bowels. After that, a well-balanced diet of fruits and veggies can be started. A well balanced diet is helpful for skin and body. Eating wholegrain cereals, raw vegetables and fresh fruits can help in strengthening the immune system. Avoiding consumption of Caffeine, starchy and sugary foods like white bread, white sugar, cakes, and pastries, condiments, pickles and sauces, while suffering from boils, is also quite helpful.
