
Maharashtra is one of the big states in India and is also home to a rich variety of flora and fauna species. The Maharashtra eco parks provide habitat to a handsome number of reptile population that include the Crocodiles, Snakes, Tortoise, Turtles, etc. The parks are famous for being home to numerous numbers of bird species as well and the bird species include both the resident and migratory birds. Some of the most important and notable bird species found in the Maharashtra eco parks include the Bulbul, Shama, Cuckoo, Parakeet, Drongoes, Wagtails Flycatchers, Purple Sunbirds, Grey Jungle Fowl, the Great Indian Bustard, the Peacock, etc. A number of species among these birds are counted among the endangered, critically endangered, threatened, or endemic species.
Apart from preserving the rich flora and fauna species, the Maharashtra eco parks are also famous for being favourite tourist destinations. A large number of tourists from all over the world come and visit these eco parks every year and the Maharashtra eco parks are contributing to the tourism of the state, through this. The managements of some of the eco parks have also arranged for different facilities like accommodation, various rides, etc for the tourists.
