Sumit Sachdev aka Gautam is a Delhi based artist and an architect by profession. But very soon getting bored of his monotonous job. He loves theatre plays, always watched them and then started his career with few plays with Berry Johns called`munto` and Amir Raza Hussain called`50 days of War`.
When he came to Mumbai, finally choose acting as his new profession. He had failed four times for entering in to Balaji Telefilms. At last he got a chance of doing a negative role in `Kyunki` as Gomzy.
He likes of people calling him Gomzy, rather than his real name. Because he thinks that is not necessary. But like his reel role he has no bad habits. He neither smokes nor drinks, that`s why doesn`t go to pubs or discos also. His family is very small rather than Virani`s family on screen. He is living with his parents, grandmother, one elder sister, who is now married and one younger brother. He never looses his temper, very homely person and loves to watch movies in home.
Personally he felt that Gautam is not a bad gay in serial, he is just messed up because of his up bringing and people surely accept him with his negative qualities. After being a bad gay, still audience loves him, becoming crazy for him is the most noticeable.
He is the biggest critic of himself. He always watches his serial and points out the faults himself.
Sumeet is little bit choosy for his roles now onwards. His up coming serial is `Karam Apna Apna`. He always praises Ekta kapoor very much and says" Ekta is very much in control which is understandable, because she is the creative head behind `Kyunki`. Her genuine enthusiasm always inspires one to do better and better.
