Bachelor of Home Science is a three year integrated course that covers an array of topics and provides an insight into various fields. The duration of the course is three years. Females largely under take this course.
Further studies: Normally after the completion of B.HSc, an individual may pursue a course in M.HSc (Masters in Home Science) in any of the above courses. Future prospects: After the completion of B.HSc, one can make a career in the following fields: Service jobs - Maintenance and supervision of house keeping departments at tourist resorts, hotels, catering facilities, restaurants etc. Teaching jobs - A Bachelors degree in Home Science is considered as one of the pre-requisite for a teacher`s job in a primary and secondary schools. Research jobs - These projects involve educating specific segments of the population such as mothers, farmers, and villagers on several issues. Eligibility for the course: B.HSc can be done after completion of H.Sc examinations from any of the streams i.e. Arts, Commerce and Science.
