Amar Upadhyaya is born on 1st August. He married to hetal, who is a engineer by profession and has a daughter named Chenab. He is a cool Leo.
Amar started his career with the serial `Dekh Bhai dekh`. after few commercials and small roles, he got the role of Mihir Virani in`Kyunki`. but for his debut in films he left the project. Now he is again coming In `Virasat` . His other serials were Aarzoo, Suhana Safar,Kalash, mehendi Tere Naam Ki,Sandhya, Kkusum, Kasauti Zindagi ki,C.I.D
Lure for the silver screen is very strong in Amar, which made him to do three (flop) films- `Dhund the fog`, `wah wah Ramji`, `LOC-Kargil`, but still he is recognized as charm of the small screen. Amar is doing Aroona Irani`s next film`Waapsi`.
When Mihir died in the serial `Kyunki`, audience couldn`t bear it, so again on demand, he has to be alive but with a different appearance.When Amar left the role, it became hard task for Balaji Telefilms to match an actor to fit in that character. Because the craze and hype for Amar is so much that, people couldn`t accept anyone else`s in.
