Beatific smile and sexy churidars in what describes the very gorgeous Aamna Shariff to the hilt. She ruled the roost on the late night romantic entertainer `Kahiin To Hoga` in the recent past. With her ideal daughter act, she managed to win over the small screen audiences so much so that they have extended their daily television viewing time by another half an hour to watch her magnificent on-screen presence. She hails from a very conservative family and it was not easy for her to break into the showbiz. But ultimately the ice broke for her in the hugely popular soap `Kahiin To Hoga` and since then there was no looking back for this gracious bundle of talent.

Although Aamna Shariff made her debut on television with that serial she made the spark evident with her magnificent presence complemented well by superb acting potential. She might not be in the league of `Tulsi` and `Parvati`, but definitely she seems to be making a mark with her wit and elegance. She always wanted to become an actor and being from a Muslim background she met with some resistance from her family members in the initial stages and therefore had to keep her ambition on the backburner for quite sometime. But soon after things started to roll and she had to take a call and henceforth she managed to convince her parents and today she is proud to have her parents beside her feeling extremely proud to have such a daughter.

During her second year of college Aamna Shariff started getting a lot of modeling offers. She endorsed popular brands like Close-up toothpaste, Betel phones, Emami cosmetic cream, Clearasil skin cream, Nescafe`s instant coffee, Vatika`s hair oil among many others. She has done nearly 50 ads. Down the line she also did a music video sung by Kumar Sanu, "Dil Ka Alam Main Kya Bataun Tujhe". In another music video by the great singing sensation Abhijeet called "Chalney Lagin Hai Hawaein` she plays the pretty lass and makes many handsome guys go weak on their knees. She also featured in a Falguni Pathak music video `Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya`. She also did a couple of films down the South. A lot of people noticed her as I started getting lots of offers to act in serials and Hindi films as well. But she turned down most of them, as it had no substance at all. When one fine day she got a call from Balaji Telefilms for `Kahiin To Hoga` which was then titled `Kashish`. She heard the role offered to her and realised that she had the biggest role and exactly the kind, which she wanted to be a part of. She was also the link between all the characters and was going to be in almost every frame. She immediately agreed to portray the role as she thought that it would be foolish of her. Ekta called her for the auditions and it took them six months to finalize. She hesitated just a bit before signing on the dotted line but now she feels fortunate that she did sign on it. She feels great about the rapport that Rajeev and she share on-screen which is so wonderfully visible. About the success of her show she claims that it is a youth-centric serial and so it is unlike the typical soaps and because of the fact that a lot of shots have been done on exotic outdoor locales, it has a film feel to it. And over all it is her extreme faith of Ektaa Kapoor that pulled them off even in the late night slot. About her extraordinarily glamorous costumes she claimed she is a very fashion conscious person and there have been instances when she felt she was not looking up to the mark or was not comfortable with the costumes, at that very point of time she immediately went and changed.

While explaining about her experience in both the mediums of films and television Aamna Shariff remarked in a recent interview one is quite chilled out when it comes to shooting for movies while television is relatively more taxing and stressful, and therefore more challenging. She also enjoys her job very much and there has not been a single morning when she got up and groaned for being compelled to attend the work. Looking at herself on the television for four days in a week used to give her a terrific high. She also claims that she did not have any formal training in acting because she holds the firm belief that acting is an intrinsic art and could not be picked up through formal training.

On the personal front however Aamna Shariff is a very happy and contented soul. She is a very practical girl and will assess the guy`s qualities before committing herself. She does not think that she will ever fall for a wrong guy. Given a choice she would definitely like to marry a guy like Piyush who embodies everything that a girl wants in a husband and is extremely charming, sophisticated and loving by nature. About her future aspirations she wants to make a great splash in the Bollywood Film Industry in the near future. She can also carry off anything and does not mind donning revealing costumed if the script demands and if the scene is shot aesthetically. Among her other favorites she loves to eat `masala pav` at Band Stand Restaurant. She is extremely fond of solitaires and never goes out without her Omega watch, solitaire ring, perfume and purse. The actor who tops her list of inspiration is the very popular Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. Her all-time favorite movies remain to be `Dil Toh Pagal Hai` and `Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge`. There is a lot more to expect from this vivacious actress in the coming times and she is sure to live upto the expectations of her huge and loyal fan following.
