Theatre Personalities of Meghalaya are associated with the theatre of Meghalaya that purely reflects their culture.

The dances are not only associated with their festivals or seasons, but also with the theatre of Meghalaya. The theatre personalities of Meghalaya present theatre shows all across the year and hence are enjoyed through out the year. The dances of Meghalaya are social, religious, agricultural, funeral and entertaining. The theatre personalities of Meghalaya perform Meghalaya theatre generally under the open sky.

Theatre personalities of Meghalaya are especially fond of their traditional music. The tribe population influences the music of Meghalaya. The Garos usually sing folk songs relating to birth, festivals, marriage, love and heroic deeds along with the beats of various types of drums and flutes, which is widely used by the theatre personalities of Meghalaya into their creation. The Khasis and Jaintias are generally fond of songs praising the nature surrounding them, and again these themes are used by the theatre personalities of Meghalaya for their scripts. At the time of theatres, different types of musical instruments like drums, duitara and instruments similar to guitar, flutes, pipes and cymbals are played.

Nongkrem dance, although a religious festival dance, is often seen in the Meghalaya theatre by the theatre personalities of Meghalaya. Shad Suk Mynsiem, Behdienkhlam, Dorsegata Dance and Lahoo Dance are greatly performed by the theatre personalities of Meghalaya, during their shows. The theatre personalities of Meghalaya have adhered to the natural form of theatre, without any extravagant furnishings or facilities.
