Temples of Viluppuram District in Tamil Nadu are highly revered sites of south India.

Temples of Viluppuram District are greatly honored by the regional folks as well as devotees from other parts of India. Viluppuram is one of the main districts of Tamil Nadu state that is situated on the southern tip of India. Viluppuram is the second largest district in the state.

Angala Parameswari Temple, one of the temples of Viluppuram District is located at Melmalayanur and enshrines the Sembadavars. There is an ancient snake pit in the inner sanctum. The festival celebrated here during February-March is famous for Simimasana kollai; many pilgrims cook large quantities of various kinds of grain and set it out in the burning ground. This offering to the goddess is believed to grant wishes. The Ammavasai (New Moon day) is considered to be especial day for worship. This is one of the temples of Viluppuram District that is decorated with sculptures and Tamil and Sanskrit inscriptions.

Swarnaghateswarar-Venneiyappar Temple, situated at Ulundoorpettai, is one of the prime temples of Viluppuram District. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Neelamalarkkanni is also worshiped here. The temple encompasses a vast area that has 2 towers and many inscriptions that reveal the historical significance of the temple. Sage Sambandar is said to have composed pathigams in favour of the Venneiyappar. Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal Temple, one of the temples of Viluppuram District is located in Padur village. Lord Vishnu is worshipped here as Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal and the other deities are Navaneethakrishnan, Sudarsanaazhwar, Aanjaneyar (Lord Hanuman), Andal, Nammazhwar, Thirumangaiazhwar, Ramanuja, Swamy Desikan and Aadivann Satagopa Yathindra Mahadesikan.

Chandrasekharar Temple, Shatru Malleswaralayam, Vadugurnathar Temple, Kamalakkanni Amman Temple, Sri Bakthapuriswarar Temple, Venkataramana Temple are some of the most visited temples of Viluppuram District.
