Shadwidh Chikitsa consists of six types of prescribed treatments or therapies in the Ayurvedic practice. The six methods of Shadwidh Chikitsha are Langhan chikitsa, Brihan chikitsa, Rukshan chikitsa, Snehan chikitsa, Swedan chikitsa and Stanbhan chikitsa.

Swedan chikitsa: The treatment in Shadwidh Chikitsha, which involves sudation, is known as swedan chikitsa. Thus, elimination of toxins and wastes through sweat glands takes place in this kind of treatment. This procedure helps the body pores to breathe and body tissues to function more fully.
Stanbhan chikitsa: Stambhan treatment in Shadwidh Chikitsha involves stopping the movement of vitiated doshas.
