The villages of Madhya Pradesh portray the heart of the rural culture of the state. Initially, the tribal population resided in the villages of Madhya Pradesh, however with the passing decades; the population of Madhya Pradesh has developed noticeably.

Rural parts of Madhya Pradesh are still resided by the tribals and they still follow the traditions and rituals that were followed by them in ancient days. Pieces of history can be seen in almost every nook and corner in the villages of Madhya Pradesh. Even the smallest villages have exceptional works of architecture in them. Some places are not very famous because of the difficulty in transport system. However they have marvels that are as good as the renowned ones and some possess even better. A village Burhanpur, which is around 5-hour drive from Indore has some of the most stunning mosques of Madhya Pradesh. Shahi Jama Masjid built by Azam Humayun was the first mosque in this village of Madhya Pradesh. Faroquis Dynasty built most of these mosques.

Chanderi is another well-known name among the villages of Madhya Pradesh with historical buildings built by many dynasties that ruled over Chanderi. Most structures were built during the reign of Mughal. Madhya Pradesh offers ample examples to substantiate the fact that these villages are some of the priceless resources of the nation. Village Bhedaghat has the gift of Marble Rocks that just cannot be missed. Situated by the banks of Narmada River, the marble rocks are best viewed by taking a boat ride in Narmada. Dhuandhar Falls that are formed by the Narmada River offer another scintillating view along the villages of Madhya Pradesh. Lying amongst the Vindhyas, Mandu is a distinctive and magnificent village for spending holidays. The high hills offer superb surroundings, whereas the age-old buildings add additional charm to this sedate village.

The administration of the villages of Madhya Pradesh follows the decisions of the Panchayat. The village panchayat is composed of prominent men from the village`s major castes. Villages of Madhya Pradesh are places that are brimming with such surprises that are stunning but not widely known.
