Rana Bhagwant Singh, Jat Ruler in Rajasthan
Rana Bhagwant Singh was the Jat ruler of Dholpur state in Rajasthan.

Rana Bhagwant Singh, the Jat ruler of Dholpur state in Rajasthan, India was born in 1823. He was from Bamraulia clan of Jats. Rana Bhagwant Singh was younger son of Rana Kirat Singh and successor of Rana Pohap Singh. After the death of Rana Pohap Singh his younger brother, the able Rana Bhagwant Singh ascended to the throne.

Rana Bhagwant Singh, Jat Ruler in Rajasthan Rana Bhagwant Singh was a cheerful and lively person who helped and provided security in 1857 war of independence to the British. He married the daughter of Jat chieftain Nand Kishor Rajauria. His sister-in-law and wife of his elder brother Rana Pohap Singh in the matters of state affairs helped him.

Rana Bhagwant Singh did not have his own children, however, adopted a boy Maharaj Singh and named him Kulender Singh. Kulender Singh married Basant Kaur, daughter of Maharaja Narender Singh of Patiala. Kulender Singh died young at an age of 28, even before his father Rana Bhagwant Singh. Kulender Singh had a son named Nihal Singh at a tender age of only 5 at the time of his father`s death. The British government awarded Rana Bhagwant Singh honors like K.C.S.I. and G.C.S.I. (cr.1869). He died on 9th February 1873 and his successor was Rana Nihal Singh.
