Monuments of Rajasthan
The monuments of Rajasthan are considered as the architectural heritage of India.

Hawa Mahal of RajasthanThe numerous wonderful monuments are the main attractions of the state of Rajasthan. These monuments include beautiful forts, temples and dargahs. The monuments of Rajasthan are basically Rajput architecture which are entirely different from the Islamic architectures. This royal state has many historical monuments to each and every city, which is considered as the architectural heritage of Rajasthan.

Monuments of Rajasthan offer the indication of varied culture, tradition and the great history of Rajasthan. These monuments represent the royal past of Rajasthan and play a major role in tourism sector. This state represent the romantic mood of different rulers of bygone era and their architectures ranges from Rajput to Islamic to European style.

Some of the famous monuments of Rajasthan are:

Hawa Mahal: The Hawa Mahal, in Jaipur is amazing five storey building made of red and pink sandstone. It is constructed wonderfully in typical Rajput style for the royal ladies to watch the royal processions without being seen. This palace has 953 small casemates with small balconies and arched roofs. Each are constructed with lattice work which are elegantly moulded and carved.

Amber Fort of Rajasthan Jantar Mantar: The famous monument Jantar Mantar of Jaipur was constructed Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1728. It is one of the famous five astronomical stations present in India located near the City Palace and is the biggest stone observatory in a working condition in the world.

Amber Fort: Amber Fort was constructed by the Raja Man Singh I in the year 1592, situated 11km from Jaipur city, but completed by Sawai Jai Singh. It is constructed by the combination of white marble and red sandstone. This palace consists several major attractions like, Jai Mandir, Zenana that is the palace for women, Sukh Niwas, Shila Devi Temple and Diwan-e-aam.

Jaisalmer Fort: The monument of Jaisalmer Fort in Jaisalmer city is a wonderful creation in the desert area with its golden sand. It consists several residential complexes for the armies, different security sources, havelis for different purposes. These were constructed by skilled craftsmen. Its gorgeous balconies, sculptures, screened windows all represent the superb architectural style.

Jaisalmer Fort of Rajasthan Apart from all these forts and palaces, the each and every city of Rajasthan consists several other monuments such as Chittorgarh Fort, Junagarh Fort, Kumbhalgarh Fort, Mehrangarh Fort, City Palace Jaipur, City Palace Udaipur and Umaid Bhavan Palace Jodhpur. These monuments were contructed for different purposes like residence, security, defence, etc. A trip to any of these famous monuments of Rajasthan makes the journey memorable.
