Personal Life of Kesto Mukherjee

Career of Kesto Mukherjee
If today, Kesto Mukherjee is a popular name in comic genre films, then all credit must go the legendary filmmaker from West Bengal named Ritwik Ghatak for discovering such a wonderful talent. After his debut with Nagarik, Hrishikesh Mukherjee had cast him for his 1953 film, Musafir. But his patent drunken act was first unearthed by Asit Sen in Maa aur Mamta (1970). Since then Kesto Mukherjee became a type cast and was seen in more films where he had to portray the role of a drunkard. He also acted in Raj Kapoor`s Teesri Kasam. He played the role of one of the cronies of Kishor Kumar in Sadhu aur Saitan. He played a similar role in Padosan, and in Mehmood`s Bombay to Goa he played the role of a dozing passenger.

Keshto played the role of a political leader in Mere Apne in 1971. In Parichay (1974) he plays the role of private tutor to a group of disobedient children who terrifies him by setting a turtle with a lighted candle on its back. In Zanjeer, Aap Ki Kasam and Sholay Keshto Mukherjee`s performances have left long-lasting impressions.
