Sakyamuni is another name of Gautama Buddha, the reviver of Buddhism.

Sakyamuni, Gautama BuddhaSakyamuni or Sakya is a name of Gautama Buddha. He was a religious teacher from ancient India and the founder of Buddhism. The life span of Sakyamuni is from 563 B.C to 483 B.C. He was the son of Suddhodana, king of Kapilavastu.

Sakyamuni means sage of the Shakyas and is the key figure in Buddhism. The description of his life, discourses, and monastic rules summarized after his death and memorized by the Sangha.
