Vattamalaikarai Odai Reservoir, Tamil Nadu
The Vattamalaikarai Odai reservoir is located in Uthamapalayam district of Tamil Nadu.

The construction of Vattamalaikarai Odai reservoir started in 1974 and completed in 1981. Vattamalaikarai Odai reservoir is located in Uthamapalayam. The reservoir features 2 canals, namely right side main canal and left side main canal with 10.20 km. and 10.11 km length respectively. The Vattamalaikarai Odai reservoir is responsible to cater to the irrigational needs of around 6,024 acres of land. Dense trees, scrub jungle, and Juli flora jungle have grown along the slope soil.

The farmers grew dry crops like Gingili, Sunflower, Groundnut, Coconut, Mango, Drumstick and Tamarind in the catchment are of the Vattamalaikarai Odai reservoir. During the months of monsoon about 20ft. of water is stored in the dam.
