Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000, Knock out Matches
The Mumbai team beat Hyderabad in the Final to win the coveted championship title, once again.

After the completion of the Super League matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000, the top six teams form the Super League stage got the promotion to advance to the Knock out level of the Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000. The teams that got the highest points in the Super League matches were promoted to the knock out level and the teams included the likes of Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad, Karnataka and Mumbai. The teams participated in the knock out matches of the Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000, like the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final. All the teams gave their best efforts to clinch the championship title by beating all the other teams on the way. However, it was the Mumbai that became successful to clinch the coveted championship title by beating the Hyderabad team in the Final.

The first Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000 was played between the teams of Tamil Nadu and Punjab and the two teams played the match at Chennai from 30 March-03 April, 2000. The Tamil Nadu team won the match quite comfortably with a margin of 7 wickets and advanced to the Semi-Final stage of the tournament. The teams of Uttar Pradesh and Hyderabad played against each other in the second Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000 and the match was held at Kanpur from 30 March-03 April, 2000. Playing very well in the match, the Hyderabad team clinched a victory of 92 runs and got the permission to enter into the Semi-Finals of the tournament.

The Karnataka team played against the Hyderabad team in the first Semi-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000 and the match took place at Bangalore from 11-15 April, 2000. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials allowed the Hyderabad team to reach the Final of the tournament. The Hyderabad team got the permission because it was having a lead in the first innings of the match. The second Semi-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000 saw the teams of Mumbai and Tamil Nadu playing against each other at Mumbai from 11-15 April, 2000. The Mumbai team played wonderfully in the match and clinched a victory of 8 wickets to set up a Final clash with the Hyderabad team. Thus, the teams of Mumbai and Hyderabad locked their horns together in the Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1999-2000 and the match was organised at Mumbai from 19-23 April, 2000. The Mumbai team dominated the Hyderabad team throughout the Final match and eventually clinched a huge victory of 297 runs for winning the match and also the championship title.
