The zone saw the Bombay, Maharashtra and Saurashtra teams entering into the knock out level of the tournament.

All the five teams that had been participating under the West Zone in the tournament took part in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 also and the teams were mainly coming from the Western region of India. The Ranji Trophy is considered to be the most popular and premium domestic cricket tournament in India and the West Zone teams in the tournament included the likes of Bombay, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Baroda and Maharashtra. All the teams gave their best efforts for becoming one of the top three teams in the zone, with a view to enter into the knock out level of the tournament. The zone saw the teams like Bombay, Maharashtra and Saurashtra eventually becoming successful to enter the knock out level. The Bombay team earned total of 20 points, Maharashtra earned 10 points and Saurashtra earned a total of 8 points, at the end of the zonal level league matches.

The match between the teams of Maharashtra and Bombay was the first of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 and the two teams played the match at Solapur from 23-26 December, 1994. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials awarded the Bombay team 2 points for the match, as it was having a lead in the first innings. The Maharashtra team failed to earn any points from the match. The second match of the zone was played between the teams of Gujarat and Saurashtra and the match was held at Ahmedabad from 23-26 December, 1994. The drawn match saw the Saurashtra team earning 2 points on the basis of its first innings lead and it also saw the Gujarat team remaining pointless. The third match of the zone saw the teams of Saurashtra and Maharashtra playing against each other at Rajkot from 31 December, 1994 - 03 January, 1995. The Maharashtra team earned 2 points for having a lead in the first innings of the drawn match and the Saurashtra team failed to earn any points from the match.

The Gujarat and Baroda teams played against each other in the fourth of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 and the match was held at Vallabh Vidyanagar from 31 December, 1994 - 03 January, 1995. The drawn match saw the Baroda team earning 2 points for its lead in the first innings and the Gujarat team remained pointless in the match. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Saurashtra and Bombay and the match took place at Bhavnagar from 07-10 January, 1995. The Bombay team played well in the match to clinch a victory of 4 wickets for earning 6 points and the Saurashtra team failed to earn even a single point from the match. The Baroda team then played against the Maharashtra team in the next match of the zone, which was held at Baroda from 07-10 January, 1995. The match officials awarded the Maharashtra team 1 point for the drawn match and the Baroda team remained pointless in the match.

The Baroda team appeared in the seventh of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 also and this time, it played against the Bombay team at Bombay from 15-18 January, 1995. The Bombay team earned 6 points from the match by winning it with a margin of 5 wickets and the Baroda team failed to earn a point from the match. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Maharashtra and Gujarat and the match was held at Pune from 15-18 January, 1995. Though the Gujarat team could not earn any points from the match, the Maharashtra team earned 6 points from it, by clinching a victory of an innings and 71 runs. Then, the Bombay team played against the Gujarat team in the next match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Bombay from 21-23 January, 1995. The match saw the Bombay team winning by an innings and 132 runs for earning 6 points and it also saw the Gujarat team remaining pointless in the match. The last of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 involved the teams like Baroda and Saurashtra and the match was held at Vadodara from 22-25 January, 1995. The Saurashtra team won the match with a good margin of 110 runs and earned 6 points, while the Baroda team remained pointless in the match.
