Ranji Trophy, 1994-95, East Zone League Matches
The Bengal, Bihar and Assam teams were the representatives of the East Zone in the knock out level.

5 teams played against each other under the East Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95; all representing different states from the Eastern region of India. The tournament has earned a lot of popularity and honour for being the premium domestic cricket tournament in India and all the East Zone teams were the regular participants of the tournament. The teams included the likes of Bihar, Tripura, Orissa, Assam and Bengal and the teams played against each other for claiming one of the top three spots in the zone. The main reason behind the teams` this endeavour was to secure a birth in the knock out level of the tournament. The teams like Bengal, Bihar and Assam eventually became successful to get into the knock out level from the East Zone, as they earned the highest points in the zone. The Bengal team earned total of 20 points, Bihar earned 12 points and the Assam team also earned 10 points, at the end of the zonal level league matches.

The teams of Bihar and Orissa played against each other in the first of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 and the two teams played the match at Jamshedpur from 11-14 December, 1994. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials awarded the Orissa team 12 points for the match, as it was having a lead in the first innings of the match. The second match of the zone was played between the teams of Tripura and Assam and the match was held at Agartala from 11-14 December, 1994. The Assam team played very well in the match and clinched a victory of 234 runs for earning 6 points and the Tripura team failed to earn any points from the match. The Assam team appeared in the next match of the zone also and this time, it played against the Bengal team at Guwahati from 19-22 December, 1994. The Bengal team earned 6 points from the match by clinching a huge victory of 9 wickets and the Assam team remained pointless in the match.

The match between the teams of Tripura and Orissa was the fourth of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 and the match took place at Agartala from 19-22 December, 1994. The winner of the match was the Orissa team with a very good margin of an innings and 88 runs and the team also earned 6 points from the match. The Tripura team could not earn any points from the match. The next match of the zone saw the Orissa team playing against the Assam team at Guwahati from 27-30 December, 1994. The drawn match saw the Assam team earning 2 points from it for having a lead in the first innings of the match. The Bengal team then played against the Bihar team in the next match of the zone and the match was held at Calcutta from 29 December, 1994 - 01 January, 1995. The match saw the Bengal team winning by a very good margin of an innings and 172 runs and also earning 6 points from it. The Bihar team failed to earn even a single point from the match.

The Bengal team appeared in the seventh of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 also and this time, it played against the Orissa team at Calcutta from 05-08 January, 1995. The match remained drawn during the stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Bengal team 2 points for the match, as it was leading Bihar team in the first innings of the match. The match between the teams of Bihar and Tripura was also held during the same timing from 05-08 January, 1995 and the two teams played the match at Jamshedpur. The Bihar team played extremely well in the match and clinched a huge victory of 10 wickets for earning 6 points. However, the Orissa team remained pointless in the match. The next match of the zone was played between the teams of Bengal and Tripura and the match was held at Calcutta from 12-15 January, 1995. The match was won by the Bengal team with a good margin of an innings and 22 runs and the team earned 6 points from the match, while the Tripura team remained pointless. The last of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1994-95 saw the teams of Assam and Bihar playing against each other at Hailakandi from 16-19 January, 1995. The Bihar team won the match by a margin of 3 wickets for earning 6 points and the Assam team also earned 2 points from the match.
