In the South Zone League Matches, Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 Hyderabad and Karnataka claimed the top spots.

The South Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 saw the participation of 6 teams, all the regular participants of the tournament. The Ranji Trophy is well recognised as the premium domestic cricket tournament in India and the teams that participated in the tournament under the South Zone were mainly representing different South Indian states. The teams included the likes of Andhra, Hyderabad, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Tamil Nadu and they played against each other for claiming the top spots in the zone. The teams also tried their best for securing a berth in the knock out level of the tournament, however, only the teams of Hyderabad and Karnataka could do so from the zone. The Hyderabad and Karnataka teams earned total of 21 and 19 points, respectively from the zonal level league matches for becoming the toppers in the zone.

The Andhra and Karnataka teams played against each other in the first of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match was held at Vijayawada from 03-06 December, 1993. The match officials awarded both the Karnataka and Andhra teams 1 point, each for the match, as it remained drawn during the specified period of time. The teams of Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad teams met with each other in the second match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Madras from 3-6 December, 1993. This match too was drawn and both the Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad teams earned 1 point each. The third match of the zone involved the teams like Goa and Kerala and the match took place at Panaji from 3-6 December, 1993. The Kerala team earned 2 points from the drawn match and the Goa team failed to earn any points from the match.

The Goa team appeared in the fourth of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and this time, it played against the Karnataka team at Bangalore from 11-13 December, 1993. The Karnataka team earned 6 points from the match, by clinching a victory of an innings and 85 runs; however, the Goa team could not earn any points from the match. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Kerala and Hyderabad and the match was held at Kottayam from 11-13 December, 1993. The winner of the match was the Hyderabad team with a good margin of an innings and 169 runs and the team also earned 6 points from the match. The Kerala team failed to earn a point from the match.

The teams of Andhra and Tamil Nadu played against each other in the next match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Bhimavaram from 11-13 December, 1993. The Tamil Nadu team played very well in the match for clinching a victory of 122 runs and also for earning 6 points and the Andhra team failed to earn any points from the match.

The match between the teams of Tamil Nadu and Kerala was the seventh of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match took place at Madras from 19-22 December, 1993. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials awarded both the Tamil Nadu and Kerala teams 1 point each. The teams of Andhra and Goa were palyed the next match of the zone. It was held at Salagramapuram from 19-22 December, 1993. The drawn math saw the Andhra team earning 2 points and Goa remaining pointless. Then, the Hyderabad and Karnataka teams met with each other in the next match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Secunderabad from 20-23 December, 1993. The winner of the match was the Hyderabad team with a margin of 8 wickets to earn 6 points; however, the Karnataka team could not earn any points from the match.

The Hyderabad team appeared in the tenth of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 also and this time, it played against the Goa team at Margao from 27-29 December, 1993. The Hyderabad team won this match also with a god margin of an innings and 125 runs for earning 6 points and the Goa team remained pointless in the match. The teams of Kerala and Andhra played against each other in the next match of the zone and the match was organised at Kottayam from 27-29 December, 1993. The Kerala team played extremely well in the match and it beat the Andhra team by a huge margin of 10 wickets. The winning team earned 6 points. But the team from Andhra Pradesh failed to score. The next match of the zone was played between the teams of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and the match was held at Bangalore from 31 December, 1993 - 03 January, 1994. Playing very well in the match, the Karnataka team clinched a victory of 131 runs for earning 6 points and the Tamil Nadu team also earned 2 points from the match.

The Goa team then played against the Tamil Nadu team in the next match of the South Zone and the two teams played the match at Madras from 08-10 January, 1994. The Tamil Nadu team earned 6 points from the match by clinching a victory of 10 wickets and the Goa team failed to earn any points from the match. The next match of the zone saw the teams of Karnataka and Kerala playing against each other at Bangalore from 08-11 January, 1994. The match was won by the Karnataka team with a very good margin of 8 wickets and the team also earned 6 points from the match. However, the Kerala team failed to earn any points from the match. The last of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was played between the teams of Hyderabad and Andhra and the two teams played the match at Secunderabad from 08-11 January, 1994. The match remained drawn during the stipulated duration and the Hyderabad team earned 2 points from it, while the Andhra could not win any points.
