The Punjab and Haryana teams topped from the North Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94.

The North Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 comprised 6 teams. All the teams hailed from the Northern region of India. The tournament is being considered as the most popular and fruitful domestic cricket tournaments in India and all the North Zone teams in the tournament were the regular participants. The teams in this zone were Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Services. The teams also gave their best efforts for securing a berth in the knock out level of the tournament, however, only the teams like Punjab and Haryana eventually became successful to do so from the zone. The Punjab and Haryana teams earned total of 26 and 20 points at the end of the zonal level league matches and they were also promoted to the knock out level of the tournament.

The North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 started with the match between the teams of Delhi and Haryana, which was held at Delhi from 26-29 November, 1993. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the Haryana team earned 2 points from the match, while the Delhi team remained pointless. The teams of Punjab and Services played against each other in the second match of the zone and the match was held at Mohali from 2-5 December, 1993. The Punjab team performed well and clinched a victory of 203 runs and earned 6 points. The Services team also earned 2 points from the match. The third match of the North zone saw the teams of Himachal Pradesh and Services playing against each other at Una from 08-10 December, 1993. The winner of the match was the Services team with a very good margin of an innings and 94 runs and the team also earned 6 points from the match. The Himachal Pradesh team failed to earn a point from the match.

The Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir teams played against each other in the fourth of the North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the two teams played the match at Mohali from 08-10 December, 1993. The match was won by the Punjab team by a very good margin of an innings and 151 runs and the team also earned 6 points from the match. The Jammu & Kashmir team could not earn any points from the match. The Punjab team appeared in the next match of the zone also and this time, it played against the Delhi team at Ludhiana from 14-16 December, 1993. This closely contested match saw the Delhi team winning by a margin of 4 wickets to earn 6 points and the Punjab team also earned 2 points from the match. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Haryana and Services and the match took place at Faridabad from 14-17 December, 1993. The Haryana team won the match quite convincingly by a margin of an innings and 82 runs for earning 6 points and the Services team remained pointless in the match.

The teams of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir were involved in the seventh of the North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match was held at Una from 14-17 December, 1993. The match was drawn. As a result the match was awarded to Jammu & Kashmir and the team earned 2 points. The Himachal Pradesh team failed to earn any points from the match.

The next match of the zone saw the Punjab team playing against the Himachal Pradesh team at Mohali from 20-22 December, 1993. The Punjab team played very well in the match and earned 6 points by clinching a victory of an innings and 225 runs and the Himachal Pradesh team remained pointless in the match. Then the teams of Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir met with each other in the next match of the zone, which took place at Rohtak from 20-22 December, 1993. The Haryana team earned 6 points from the match by winning it with a very good margin of an innings and 132 runs and the Jammu & Kashmir team failed to earn a point from the match.

The match between the teams of Services and Delhi was the tenth of the North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the two teams played the match at Palam from 20-23 December, 1993. The drawn match saw the Services team earning 2 points and the Delhi team remaining pointless. The Delhi team once again appeared in the next match of the zone. It played against the Himachal Pradesh team at Una from 26-28 December, 1993. The match saw the Delhi team winning by an innings and 120 runs and also earning 6 points and it also saw the Himachal Pradesh team failing to earn a point. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Services and Jammu & Kashmir and the match was held at Palam from 26-29 December, 1993. The Services team played very well in the match for clinchi8ng a huge victory of 10 wickets and the team also earned 6 points from the match, while the Jammu & Kashmir team remained pointless.

The Haryana and Punjab teams played against each other in the next match of the zone. It was held at Gurgaon from 26-29 December, 1993. The Punjab team earned 6 points from the match by clinching a victory of 277 runs. On the other hand the Haryana team failed to earn a point from the match. The Delhi team then played against the Jammu & Kashmir team in the next match of the zone and the match took place at Delhi from 1-3 January, 1994. The winner of the match was the Delhi team with a margin of an innings and 40 runs and the team also earned 6 points from the match. The Jammu & Kashmir team could not earn any points from the match. The last of the North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was played between the teams of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and the two teams played the match at Bhiwani from 01-03 January, 1994. The Haryana team earned 6 points from the match, as it won the match with a margin of an innings and 185 runs and the Himachal Pradesh team remained pointless in the match.
