Bombay beat Bengal in the Final match of Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and won the championship title.

The knock out level of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was comprised of 15 teams that were selected from all the fives zones of the tournament. The teams included the top three teams from each of the zones. The teams included the likes of Karnataka, Assam, Haryana, Bombay, Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Vidarbha, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Bengal, Delhi, Punjab, Baroda and Tamil Nadu. The teams played against each other in the knock out matches of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and they took part in the Pre-Quarter-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final match of the tournament. Though all the teams tried their best, the Bombay team eventually became successful to win the championship title, after a few years` gap.

The teams of Karnataka and Assam played against each other in the first Pre-Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match was held at Bangalore from 12-14 February, 1994. The Karnataka team won the match by a margin of an innings and 186 runs and advanced to the Quarter-Final stage of the tournament. The second Pre-Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was played between the teams of Haryana and Bombay and the match took place at Faridabad from 12-16 February, 1994. The Bombay team clinched a victory of an innings and 202 runs in the match for entering into the Quarter-Finals of the tournament.

The Rajasthan and Hyderabad teams played against each other in the third Pre-Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the two teams played the match at Jaipur from 12-16 February, 1994. The Hyderabad team entered into the Quarter-Final stage of the tournament by winning this match with a very good margin of 167 runs. The fourth Pre-Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 involved the teams like Vidarbha and Maharashtra and the match was organised at Nagpur from 12-16 February, 1994. Though, the match remained drawn during the specified period of time, the match officials allowed the Maharashtra team to get into the Quarter-Finals of the tournament.

The match between the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Orissa was the fifth Pre-Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the two teams played the match at Indore from 12-15 February, 1994. The drawn match saw the Orissa team advancing towards the Quarter-Final stage of the tournament. Then, the Bengal team played against the Delhi team in the sixth Pre-Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match was held at Calcutta from 12-16 February, 1994. The Bengal team reached the Quarter-Finals of the tournament in spite of the match being drawn during the stipulated duration. The last and seventh Pre-Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was played between the teams of Baroda and Tamil Nadu and the match was held at Baroda from 12-15 February, 1994. Though the match remained drawn during the stipulated duration, the match officials allowed the Baroda team to advance to the next stage of the tournament.

The first Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was played between the teams of Bengal and Hyderabad and the two teams played the match at Calcutta from 26 February-01 March, 1994. The Bengal team won the match by a huge margin of 9 wickets and advanced towards the Semi-Final stage of the tournament. The teams of Baroda and Punjab played against each other in the second Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match was held at Baroda from 25 February-02 March, 1994. The Baroda team entered into the Semi-Finals of the tournament, though the match remained drawn during the specified period of time.

The Maharashtra and Orissa teams were involved in the third Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match took place at Pune from 26 February-02 March, 1994. The Maharashtra team reached the Semi-Final stage of the tournament in spite of the match being a drawn one. The last and fourth Quarter-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was played between the teams of Karnataka and Bombay and the two teams played the match at Bangalore from 26 February-02 March, 1994. The Bombay team played well in the match and got the permission to enter into the Semi-Finals of the tournament, though the match remained drawn during the specified period of time.

After the completion of the Pre-Quarter-Final and Quarter-Final matches, the Semi-Final line-up of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was like Maharashtra Vs Bombay and Bengal Vs Baroda. The Maharashtra and Bombay teams played against each other in the first Semi-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the two teams played the match at Pune from 12-16 March, 1994. The Bombay team played well in the match and got the permission for entering into the Final of the tournament, though the match remained drawn during the stipulated duration. The second Semi-Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 was played between the teams of Bengal and Baroda and the match was held at Calcutta from 12-15 March, 1994.

The Bengal team won the match by a very good margin of 8 wickets and set up a clash with the Bombay team in the Final of the tournament. Thus, the Bombay and Bengal teams locked their horns together in the Final match of the Ranji Trophy, 1993-94 and the match was organised at Bombay from 27-31 March, 1994. The Bombay team dominated the Bengal team throughout the Final match and eventually clinched a victory of 7 wickets for winning the match as well as the coveted championship title.
