Top spots in the West Zone League Matches, Ranji Trophy, 1992-93, were occupied by Bombay and Baroda teams.

The West Zone of the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 was comprised of 5 teams, all the regular participants in the tournament for the previous several editions. The tournament has earned a huge popularity for being one of the premium domestic cricket tournaments in India and the teams that played under the West Zone were mainly selected from the Western region of India. The teams included the likes of Gujarat, Baroda, Maharashtra, Bombay and Saurashtra and all the teams tried their best for becoming one of the top two teams in the zone. Though all the teams gave their best efforts for securing a birth in the knock out level of the tournament, only the teams like Bombay and Baroda eventually became successful to do so from the West Zone. The teams earned the highest points from the zonal level league matches and they also competed with the top teams of the other teams in the knock out level for winning the coveted championship title.

The Bombay and Baroda teams played against each other in the first of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Bombay from 20-23 November, 1992. The Bombay and Baroda teams earned 15 and 9 points, respectively from the match, as it remained drawn during the specified period of time. The teams of Gujarat and Saurashtra played against each other in the second match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Valsad from 20-23 November, 1992. The match remained drawn during the stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Saurashtra and Gujarat teams 11 and 10 points, respectively for the match. The third match of the West Zone was played between the teams of Gujarat and Baroda and the match took place at Surat from 27-30 November, 1992. The match saw the Baroda team earning 16 points by winning it with a margin of 195 runs and the Gujarat team also earned 6 points from the match.

The fourth of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 saw the teams of Saurashtra and Maharashtra playing against each other at Bhavnagar from 27-30 November, 1992. The Maharashtra and Saurashtra teams earned 17 and 9 points, respectively from the match, as it remained drawn during the specified period of time. The Maharashtra team appeared in the next match of the zone also and this time, it played against the Baroda team at Vadodara from 04-06 December, 1992. The winner of the match was the Maharashtra team with a very good margin of 8 wickets and the team also earned 19 points from the match. The Baroda team earned 7 points from the match, as well. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Saurashtra and Bombay and the two teams played the match at Rajkot from 19-22 December, 1992. The drawn match saw the Bombay team earning 11 points and Saurashtra earning 4 points from it.

The match between the teams of Baroda and Saurashtra was the seventh of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Vadodara from 26-29 December, 1992. The match officials awarded the Baroda and Saurashtra teams 13 and 8 points, respectively for the match, as it remained drawn during the specified period of time. Then, the teams of Maharashtra and Bombay played against each other in the next match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Pune from 26-29 December, 1992. The Bombay and Maharashtra teams earned 18 and 10 points, respectively from the drawn match.

The next match of the zone saw the teams of Bombay and Gujarat playing against each other at Bombay from 02-05 January, 1993. The match was won by the Bombay team with a margin of an innings and 116 runs and the team earned 24 points from the match. The Gujarat team also earned 4 points from the match. The last of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 involved the teams like Maharashtra and Gujarat and the match took place at Bhusawal from 08-11 January, 1992. The Maharashtra team earned 17 points from the match by clinching a victory of 5 wickets and the Gujarat team earned 7 points from the match, as well.
