In the South Zone League Matches, Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 Karnataka and Tamil Nadu teams emerged as the winners.

All the 6 regular teams that had been playing in the tournament under the South Zone were present there in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 also. The tournament is quite famous for being one of the most popular and fruitful domestic cricket tournaments in India. The teams that participated in the tournament under the South Zone were mainly representing different states from the Southern region of India and they included the likes of Hyderabad, Andhra, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Kerala and Karnataka. The teams played against each other in the zonal level for becoming one of the top two teams in the zone and they also tried their best to secure a birth in the knock out level of the tournament. However, only the teams like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu could eventually do so from the zone and they entered into the knock out level of the tournament.

The match between the teams of Andhra and Kerala was the first of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was organised at Vishakhapatnam from 06-09 November, 1992. The Andhra and Kerala teams earned 4 and 2 points, respectively from the match, as it remained drawn during the stipulated period. The second match of the zone was played between the teams of Hyderabad and Goa and the two teams played the match at Hyderabad from 06-09 November, 1992. The Hyderabad team won the match with a very god margin of an innings and 56 runs for earning 23 points and the Goa team also earned 3 points from the match. The Hyderabad team appeared in the third match of the South Zone also and this time, it played against the Kerala team at Secunderabad fro, 12-15 November, 1992. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials awarded the Hyderabad and Kerala teams 17 and 13 points, respectively for the match.

The Goa and Andhra teams played against each other in the fourth of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Margao from 12-15 November, 1992. The Andhra team earned 19 points from the match by clinching a victory of 10 wickets and the Goa team also earned 3 points from the match. The teams of Tamil Nadu and Andhra played against each other in the next match of the South Zone, which took place at Salem from 12-15 November, 1992. The drawn match saw the Tamil Nadu team earning 7 points and Andhra earning 5 points from it. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Goa and Karnataka and the match was held at Panaji from 13-15 November, 1992. The winner of the match was the Karnataka team with a wonderful margin of an innings and 73 runs and the team earned 23 points from it. The Goa team also earned 4 points from the match.

The Goa and Tamil Nadu teams then played against each other in the seventh of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Panaji from 20-22 November, 1992. The Tamil Nadu team earned 25 points from the match by winning it with a huge margin of an innings and 146 runs and the Goa team earned 4 points from the match, as well. The next match of the zone saw the Kerala and Karnataka teams playing against each other at Kozhikode from 20-23 November, 1992. The match was won by the Karnataka team with a very good margin of an innings and 74 runs for earning 22 points and the Kerala team also earned 3 points from the match. The next match of the zone saw the Hyderabad team playing against the Tamil Nadu team at Secunderabad from 27-30 November, 1992. The Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu teams earned 15 and 9 points, respectively from the drawn match.

The Karnataka and Andhra teams then played against each other in the tenth of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93, which took place at Bangalore from 27-30 November, 1992. The Karnataka and Andhra teams earned 20 and 10 points, respectively from the match, as it remained drawn during the specified period of time. The match between the teams of Kerala and Goa was also held during the same timing from 27-30 November and the two teams played the match at Cochin. The match saw the Kerala team winning by a good margin of 5 wickets. The Kerala team also earned 17 points from the match and the earnings of the Goa team from the match were 7 points. The teams of Karnataka and Hyderabad then played against each other in the next match of the South Zone and the match took place at Hubli from 05-06 December, 1992. The match remained drawn during the stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Karnataka and Hyderabad teams 4 and 3 points, respectively for the match.

The next match of the South Zone was played between the teams of Kerala and Tamil Nadu and the two teams played the match at Thirvalla from 05-08 December, 1992. Playing very well in the match, the Tamil Nadu team clinched a victory of an innings and 9 runs for earning 23 points and the Kerala team also earned 4 points from the match. The next match of the South Zone saw the teams of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka playing against each other at Madras from 16-19 December, 1992. The Tamil Nadu team earned 20 points from the match by clinching a victory of 6 wickets and the Karnataka team also earned 10 points from the match. The teams of Andhra and Hyderabad played against each other in the last of the South Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the two teams played the match at Vishakhapatnam from 19-22 December, 1992. The winner of the match was the Hyderabad team with a very good margin of an innings and 134 runs for earning 22 points and the Andhra team also earned 2 points from the match.
