From the North Zone of the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 Punjab and Delhi teams claimed the top spots.

Five teams played against each other under the North Zone of the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93, one of the leading domestic cricket tournaments in India. The zone saw one of its regular participants; the Jammu & Kashmir team not playing in the edition, however, all the other regular teams like Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Services and Punjab were present there. The participating teams in the zone were mainly coming from the Northern region of India and they played against each other for claiming the top spot in the zone. All the teams also gave their best efforts for getting a chance for competing in the knock out level of the tournament, however, the teams like Punjab and Delhi could eventually do so from the zone. The Punjab and Delhi teams earned total of 68 and 64 points, respectively from the zonal level league matches and they also competed with the top teams of the other zones in the knock out level for the championship title.

The teams of Services and Himachal Pradesh played against each other in the first of the North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Delhi from 20-23 November, 1992. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials awarded the Himachal Pradesh and Services teams 8 and 6 points, respectively for the match. The Services team played against the Haryana team in the second match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Delhi from 25-28 November, 1992. The Haryana team won the match by a very good margin of an innings and 152 runs for earning 23 points and the Services team also earned 3 points from the match. The third match of the zone saw the teams of Delhi and Himachal Pradesh playing against each other at Delhi from 25-28 November, 1992. The winner of the match was the Delhi team with a wonderful margin of an innings and 124 runs and the team also earned 25 points from the match. The earnings of the Himachal Pradesh team from the match were 2 points.

The match between the teams of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab was the fourth of the North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the two teams played the match at Una from 01-04 December, 1992. The Punjab team earned 23 points from the match by clinching a victory of an innings and 45 runs and the Himachal Pradesh team also earned 2 points from the match. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Delhi and Services and the match was held at Delhi from 07-10 December, 1992. The Delhi team played very well in the match for clinching a victory of an innings and 42 runs to earn 22 points and the Services team earned 4 points from the match, as well.

The next match was between the Punjab and the Haryana teams in the North zone league matches and the match took place at Jullundur from 07-10 December, 1992. The match remained drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials awarded the Haryana and Punjab teams 11 and 6 points, respectively for the match.

The Himachal Pradesh and Haryana teams met with each other in the seventh of the North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Mandi from 13-16 December, 1992. The Haryana team won the match by a good margin of 114 runs for earning 20 points and the Himachal Pradesh team also earned 9 points from the match. The teams of Services and Punjab played against each other in the next match of the North Zone and the match took place at Delhi from 13-15 December, 1992. The match was won by the Punjab team with a margin of an innings and 123 runs and the team also earned 25 points from the match. The Services team earned 3 points from the match, as well.

The next match of the zone involved the teams like Delhi and Punjab and the two teams played the match at Delhi from 19-22 December, 1992. The Punjab and Delhi teams earned 14 and 9 points, respectively from the match, as it remained drawn during the stipulated duration. The last of the North Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 was played between the teams of Haryana and Delhi and the match took place at Gurgaon from 24-27 December, 1992. The drawn match saw the Delhi team earning 14 points and Haryana earning 9 points from it.
