In the East Zone League Matches, Ranji Trophy Bengal and Assam teams earned the highest points.

The East Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 saw the participation of all the five regular teams of the zone that had been playing in the tournament for the previous several years. The tournament is well famous for being the premium domestic cricket tournament in India and the teams playing under the East Zone of the tournament were mainly representing different states from the Eastern region of India. The teams included the likes of Tripura, Orissa, Bengal, Assam and Bihar and all of them played against each other with the sole objective of becoming one of the top two teams in the zone. The teams also tried their best to secure a birth in the knock out level of the tournament so that they could vie for the championship title. However, only the teams like Bengal and Assam eventually became successful to do so from the zone, as they earned total of 91 and 54 points respectively from the zonal level league matches.

The East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 started with the match between the teams of Assam and Bihar and the two teams played the match at Tinsukia from 21-24 November, 1992. The match remained drawn during the stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Assam and Bihar teams 11 and 6 points respectively for the match. The second match of the zone was played between the teams of Tripura and Bengal and the match was held at Agartala from 21-24 November, 1992. The Bengal team got a very good start in the tournament by winning this match with a very good margin of an innings and 203 runs and the team also earned 23 points from the match. The Tripura team earned 3 points from the match, as well. The teams of Orissa and Tripura then played against each other in the third match of the zone and the match took place at Cuttack from 27-30 November, 1992. The Orissa team earned 20 points from the match by clinching a victory of an innings and 126 runs and the Tripura team also earned 2 points from the match.

The Bengal and Bihar teams played against each other in the fourth of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Calcutta from 27-30 November, 1992. The Bengal team played very well in the match and clinched a victory of 286 runs for earning 22 points and the Bihar team also earned 7 points from the match. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Assam and Orissa and the two teams played the match at Guwahati from 04-07 December, 1992. The drawn match saw the Assam team earning 14 points and Orissa earning 6 points from it. The teams of Bihar and Tripura then played against each other in the next match of the zone and the match took place at Ranchi from 4-7 December, 1992. The winner of the match was the Bihar team with a wonderful margin of an innings and 105 runs and the team earned 24 points from the match. The Tripura team also earned 4 points from the match.

The seventh of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 saw the teams of Assam and Bengal playing against each other at Guwahati from 19-22 December, 1992. The Bengal team won the match with a huge margin of 9 wickets for earning 21 points and the Assam team also earned 7 points from the match. The Bengal team appeared in the next match of the zone also and this time, it played against the Orissa team at Calcutta from 25-28 December, 1992. The Bengal team played wonderfully in this match also and earned 25 points by clinching a victory of an innings and 338 runs. The earnings of the Orissa team from the match were 4 points. The next match of the zone was played between the teams of Assam and Tripura and the two teams played the match at Guwahati from 25-28 December, 1992. The match saw the Assam team earning 22 points by winning it with a margin of an innings and 56 runs and the Tripura team also earned 4 points from the match. The last of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 involved the teams like Bihar and Orissa and the match was held at Dhanbad from 31 December, 1992 - 02 January, 1993. The Bihar and Orissa teams earned 13 and 10 points, respectively from the drawn match.
