In Central Zone League Matches, Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh teams were the toppers.

Five teams played against each other under the Central Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93, the premium domestic cricket tournament in India. The teams were mainly representing different states from the Central region of India and they included the likes of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Railways. All the teams were the regular participants in the tournament and they competed with each other for becoming one of the top two teams in the zone. The teams also vied for getting a chance in the knock out level of the tournament, however, only the Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh teams eventually became successful to do so. The Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh teams earned total of 76 and 64 points, respectively from the zonal level league matches and entered into the knock out level from the Central Zone.

The teams of Vidarbha and Uttar Pradesh played against each other in the first of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Nagpur from 18-21 November, 1992. The match remained drawn during the stipulated duration of time and the match officials awarded the Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha teams 12 and 8 points, respectively for the match. The Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan teams were involved in the second match of the zone and the two teams played the match at Bhilai from 21-24 November, 1992. The winner of the match was the Madhya Pradesh team with a very good margin of an innings and 69 runs and the Rajasthan team also earned 4 points from the match. The third match of the Central Zone was played between the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and the match took place at Korba from 28th November to 1st December, 1992. The drawn match saw the Madhya Pradesh team earning 18 points and Vidarbha earning 9 points from it.

The match between the teams of Railways and Rajasthan was the fourth of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the match was held at Jaipur from 28 November-02 December, 1992. The Railways team played very well in the match and clinched a victory of an innings and 29 runs for earning 20 points and the Rajasthan team also earned 4 points from the match. The Railways team appeared in the next match of the zone also and this time, it played against the Madhya Pradesh team at Delhi from 5-8 December, 1992. The Madhya Pradesh and Railways teams earned 20 and 14 points, respectively from the drawn match. The next match of the zone saw the Rajasthan team playing against the Uttar Pradesh team and the two teams played the match at Udaipur from 5-8 December, 1992. The Uttar Pradesh team earned 17 points from the match by clinching a victory of 56 runs and the Rajasthan team earned 7 points from the match as well.

The Railways and Vidarbha teams played against each other in the seventh of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 and the two teams played the match at Delhi from 20-23 December, 1992. The match saw the Vidarbha teams winning by a very good margin of 165 runs for earning 20 points and the Railways team also earned 9 points from the match. The Vidarbha team was a part of the next match of the zone also and this time, it played against the Rajasthan team at Nagpur from 28-31 December, 1992. The Vidarbha team played very well in this match also and clinched a victory of 45 runs to earn 17 points from it. The Rajasthan team earned 10 points from the match, as well. The Railways and Uttar Pradesh teams were involved in the next match of the zone and the match was held at Ghaziabad from 28-31 December, 1992. The closely contested match saw the Uttar Pradesh team getting a narrow victory of only 3 wickets and also earning 25 points from it. The Railways team also earned 13 points from the match. The last of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1992-93 was played between the most powerful teams of the zone, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and the match took place at Lucknow from 18-21 January, 1993. The Madhya Pradesh team played extremely well in the match and clinched a victory of 66 runs for earning 17 points from it. The Uttar Pradesh team earned 10 points from the match, as well to claim the second spot in the zone.
