Krishna is an Asura or Dasyu mentioned in the Rig Veda.

Krishna is the name of a demon or Asura or Dasyu referred in the Rig Veda. Krishna was slain together with his wives so that no one of his family survives.

Krishna means black and is referred to the dark complexioned aborigines. Krishna with ten thousand asuras committed fearful devastation, until he was defeated and slain by Lord Indra.
