Kapila is the name of one the Puranic Rivers.

Kapila, Indian RiverKapila River is an Indian river mentioned in the Puranas. It originates in the Indian state Kerala. This river flows through Nanjangudu and reaches Tirumakudalu-Narasipura. There Kapila River joins Cauvery River and Spatika.

Kapila River continues to flow in the name of Cauvery towards Shivanasamudra and then proceeds to Mettur Dam.
