Pravara River is one of the significant rivers of the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Pravara River, Indian RiverPravara River is an important river in the western parts of Maharashtra. It is one of the main tributaries of the Godavari River. Indian mythology has said that, once Sage Agastya meditated by consuming only water and air for a long tenure. Due to his incredible devotion, Lord Shiva appeared, blessed him, and left a stream of Ganga that is now known as Pravara River. Wilson Dam, also known as Bhandardara Dam, is the major irrigation project on the Pravara River. Bhandardara and Agastya Rishi Ashram are some of the attraction on the banks of Pravara River.
