The first of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1969-70 was played between the teams of Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh at Nagpur from 05-07 December, 1969. The match was drawn during the stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha teams 5 and 3 points, respectively for the match. The teams of Rajasthan and Vidarbha then met with each other in the second match of the zone at Jodhpur from 10-12 January, 1970. The fourth of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1969-70 saw a clash between the teams of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and the two teams played against each other at Ajmer from 16-18 January, 1970. This was another drawn match in the zone and the match saw the Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh teams earning 5 and 3 points, respectively from it. The Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh teams then played against each other in the fifth of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1969-70 and the match took place at Dehradun from 23-25 January, 1970. The match was drawn during the specified period of time and the match officials awarded the Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh teams 5 and 3 points, respectively for the match. The last match of the Central Zone saw a huge clash between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and the match was held at Varanasi from 30 January-01 February, 1970. The Rajasthan team played extremely well in the match and clinched a huge victory of an innings and 123 runs for earning 8 valuable points from the match. The win also helped the Rajasthan team to secure a birth in the knock out level of the tournament. |
