Ranji Trophy, 1966-67, Central Zone League Matches
Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh were the toppers in the zone.

Comprised of 4 teams, the Central Zone of the Ranji Trophy, 1966-67 saw a tough battle between the teams that were coming from the Central region of India. The name of the teams were like Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and all of them played some good cricket in the zonal level in their endeavour to secure a birth in the knock out level of the tournament. However, the teams like Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh became the toppers in the zone and went on to the knock out level of the tournament for competing with the top teams from the other zones.

The first of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1966-67 was played between the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha that was held at Indore from 05-07 November, 1966. The closely contested match saw the Vidarbha team winning by a narrow margin of 3 wickets and earning 9 points from it. The Vidarbha team appeared in the second match of the Central Zone also and this time, it played against the Rajasthan team at Nagpur from 19-21 November, 1966. The match was drawn during the stipulated period and the match officials awarded the Rajasthan and Vidarbha teams 5 and 4 points, respectively for the match.

The teams of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh clashed with each other in the third of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1966-67 and the match took place at Agra from 19-21 November, 1966. The match saw the Madhya Pradesh team winning by a good margin of 113 runs and earning the entire 9 points from it. The next match of the zone saw a clash between the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and the match was held at Indore from 26-28 November, 1966. The drawn match saw the Rajasthan team earning 5 points and Madhya Pradesh earning 4 points from it.

There was a battle between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha ion the fifth of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1966-67 and the match was held at Allahabad from 27-28 November, 1966. The match was drawn during the stipulated period and as a result, the Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha teams earned 5 and 4 points, respectively from the match. The Uttar Pradesh team appeared in the last match of Central Zone also and it played the match against the Rajasthan team at Allahabad from 02-04 December, 1966. The Rajasthan team played wonderfully in the match and earned 9 points by winning it with a margin of 7 wickets.
