Ranji Trophy, 1964-65, Central Zone League Matches
Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha topped in the zone, trouncing the challenge of Rajasthan.

There were a number of 4 teams played against each other under the Central Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1964-65. All the teams were coming from the Central region of India and they competed with each other for earning a birth in the knock out level of the tournament. The teams included the likes of Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, and the Vidarbha and Uttar Pradesh teams became the toppers of the zone.

The teams of Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha appeared in the first of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1964-65 and they played the match at Allahabad from 06-08 December, 1964. The match was drawn during its stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Vidarbha and Uttar Pradesh teams 5 and 3 points, respectively for the match. The second match of the Central Zone saw a clash between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and this match was also held at Allahabad from 12-14 December, 1964. This was also a drawn match and the drawn match saw the Uttar Pradesh team earning 5 points and Rajasthan earning 3 points from it.

The Uttar Pradesh team appeared in the next match of the Central Zone also and this time, it played against the Madhya Pradesh team at Varanasi from 19-21 December, 1964. The Uttar Pradesh team played wonderfully in the match and clinched a victory of 38 runs for earning the entire 9 points from it. The fourth of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1964-65 involved the teams of Vidarbha and Rajasthan and the match was held at Nagpur from 10-12 January, 1965. The Rajasthan and Vidarbha teams earned 6 and 3 points, respectively from the match, as it remained drawn during its specified period of time.

In the fifth of the Central Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1964-65, there was a battle between the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and the match took place at Indore from 16-18 January, 1965. This was another drawn match in the zone and the match saw the Rajasthan team earning 5 points and Madhya Pradesh team earning 3 points from it. The last match of the Central Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1964-65 saw a huge clash between the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha at Bhilai from 29-31 January, 1965. The match saw the Vidarbha team winning by a margin of 100 runs and earning 8 valuable points from it.
