Kannada Movie Actresses have won the hearts of the audiences through their acting prowess. However the image of the Kannada actress has undergone a sea change with changing times. The glamour quotient has increased. On the other hand Kannada actress, such as, Vijayashanti opened up completely new avenues for the Kannada actress. One of the earliest talented Kannada actresses is Pandari Bai. Apart from Kannada films she has also appeared in Tamil and Telugu films. During 1950s and 60s she played the lead roles. Prema is among the new crop of Kannada actresses. She has shared the silver screen with Kannada actors such as Shivrajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Ravichandran, Upendra, Saikumar and Ramesh Aravind. She started off her career with Savyasachi in 1995. After that there was no looking back. Her blockbuster film Om brought her several awards. Prema is one of the prominent contemporary Kannada actresses.
