SIES (South Indian Educational Society) was established in the year 1932. M.V Venkateshwaran founded this Educational society. The institution had started with a small school and has grown enormously, thus providing scope for the students to study subjects such as Economics, Management, Science, Arts, and Commerce at the higher level. It is one of the most respected institutes of Mumbai, which is known for its academic excellence.

The USP of the College:
The College has special facilities for physically challenged students such as the library for visually challenged students and classes for the handicapped in the ground floor. The college also hosts a career fair by the name `Disha` during the month of December-January. Besides academics, SIES College takes initiatives in developing the students by offering courses in music and yoga.

Arts, Science and Commerce. The College is known to have a strong Philosophy and Microbiology department. SIES is considered to be the only college in India to offer an Economics degree from the world famous London school of Economics.
